Chapter 3
Allahumma ṣalli wasallim wabārik ʿalayh waʿala ālih
Oh Allāh, send Your mercy, peace and blessings upon him and his Family
fa abūhu ādamu nāla takrimatan bihi
walahul malā’iku rabbunā qad asjadā
Adam, his father, attained distinction through him [Muḥammad],
And our Lord made his angels fall prostrate to him
biqawā’imil ʿarshi ra’ās ma muḥammadin
maʿal ālahi fabāna rutbatu aḥmadā
He [Adam] saw the name Muḥammad [inscribed] on the pillars of the throne
Alongside the Divine, and thus the rank of Aḥmad became manifest
wbihi daʿā mutawssilan fa ajābahu
bil waladil āzkā qabilnal wālidā
And through Muḥammad did Adam supplicate and Allāh responded:
( By the pure child, We accepted (the supplication of) the father)

He continued journeying through the lineage of the noble,
And all of them affirmed the Divine unity of Allāh the Exalted
wa Allahu yaklauhu biʿayni ʿināyatin
ḥattā talaqqāhu abun qad mujjidā
Allāh safeguarded (his lineage) with Divine solicitude,
Until his noble father, a servant of the Divine, received him
ʿabdul ālahi faḥamalat āminatun
bil muṣṭafā fakāna fakhran amjadā
Āminah carried the Selected one,
And this was a supreme and glorious privilege
walam tajid thiqalan walā alaman wakam
qad shāhadat āyātin tasmū su’dadā
She experienced neither toil nor discomfort,
And how many signs she witnessed of ever-increasing sublimity!

dal waḍʿi bit tasbīḥi qad fāḍan nadā
At the occasion of the birth, contentment descended and political hegemony fell into disarray
And so, due to Allāh’s transcendence, flowed Divine largesse without measure.
subḥāna Allah wal ḥamdu lillāh wa lā alaha allā Allah wa Allahu akbar ārbʿ mrāt
Glory be to Allāh, all praise is for Allāh, there is no deity save Allāh, Allāh is supreme

And there is neither power nor strength save in Allāh, the High, the Tremendous, at every moment, eternally, for the number of His creation, the contentment of His being, the weight of His Throne and the extent of His words.

With a severed umbilical cord, antimony applied to his eyes,
Circumcised, resplendent, prostrating to the Sovereign Lord – Muḥammad was born
