أَشْرَقَتْ أَنْوَارْ مُحَمَّد
The Lights of Muhammad Shone

أَشْرَقَتْ أَنْوَارْ مُحَمَّد
عِنْدَمَا هَلَّ الْرَّبِيع
ashraqat anwar muḥammad
ʿindamā hallal rrabīʿ
The lights of Muhammad shone,
when the month of Rabīʿ arrived
يَا لَهُ مَوْلُودْ مُمَجَّدْ
صَانَهُ اللهُ الْسَّمِيع
yā lahu mawlūd mumajjad
ṣānahu Allahul ssamīʿ
O, what a glorious newborn!
Protected by Allah, the All-Hearing
لَيْلَةُ الإِثْنَيْنِ وَضَعَتْ
آمِنَةْ خَيْرَ الأَنَام
laylatul ithnayni waḍaʿat
āminah khayral anām
On the night of Monday she gave birth,
Āminah brought forth the best of mankind
مَعْ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ سَمِعَتْ
أَنَّهُ وُلِدَ الْشَّفِيعْ
maʿ ṭulūʿil fajri samiʿat
annahu wulidal shshafīʿ
With the rising of the dawn it was heard,
That the Intercessor had been born
