O traveler traversing the desert and crossing through

Pass with me, for the length of separation is not permitted

When shall I attain the abode of the Hashimite?

When shall I pass by the Prophet’s abode?

For God’s sake is whatever my hands contain and I possess

An abode that transcended in mastery and sovereignty

An abode that rose in status as a sanctuary

An abode that possesses the praised description through Ahmad

An abode that contained the best of mankind, Muhammad

An abode held dear above all mankind

For God is that abode, oh what a place it is!

It is a place of descent, yet for every elevation

I have spoken of it in love and humility

My soul and all I own be a ransom for an abode

Whose sanctuary is protected by the swaying spear

The essence of noble deeds and praises is an aspiration

For the eye, as it is for the heart a delight

A meaning that serves as a meadow for the gazelles of truths

Vast in its sources and springs, wide-stretching

And all goodness is stored within it

How excellent a dwelling whose beauty is manifest!

And its blessing appeared to the masters of gnosis

And its melody moved the soul with clear articulation upon hearing

The masters of hearts sought it because

It is firmly planted in the heart of every monotheist

The recitation of my praise for him delighted the reciter

Where the eulogies are drawn from the virtues of Ahmad

Rather, I spoke in rapture the words of one guided

I trained my intuition in the praise of Muhammad

So that the virginal beauties of rhetoric may appear

My praise becomes sweet through him and rises by his name

From the light of his wisdom comes the illumination of his judgment

My composition of the pearls of his praise is from his ocean

I refined it, as if in my composition of it

I recite the praise while the Prophet grants approval

The verses of the Prophet’s praises are fortified

And lofty, raised high above the heights

And the ranks of transcendence are gathered for him

The Prophet’s stations are too high for praise

So description in simple words is but a brief summary

The Prophet’s prestige encompassed guidance as its bliss

And his guidance protected against the error of whims

And his support has sustained us throughout the ages

Out of regard for him, his promise to me remains

Forgiveness, and my hope for bounty is granted

From him, support flowed abundantly in this first life

And likewise in the Hereafter, his is the most generous hand

Asceticism is nothing before his presence, indeed it is not counted

His asceticism turned away from the world even when

Keys and treasures were offered to him

Seeking intercession I came to him, and my means

Is he himself, because of his knowledge of my true state

For he is the Generous One who responds to my plea

My entire hope is that my sins be removed

From me, and my lapse forgiven, that I may succeed
