jāhun nabiyyi bihir rajā’u manūṭu
The Prophet's honor, with it hope is tied,
wabadahu fīl amadiṭ ṭawīli basīṭu
And his beginning in the long term is simple,
wasanāhu fī ʿiqdil bahā’i wasīṭu
His brilliance in the necklace of splendor is a link,
ḍaw’un nabiyyi shuʿāʿuhul mabsūṭu
lighayāhibish shirkil bahīmi yumīṭu
The light of the Prophet, his radiance is spread,
It removes the darkness of the blind polytheism,
nūruḍ ḍuḥā tunbīka sūrata sharḥihi
The light of the forenoon informs you of his Surah's explanation,
ʿammā badā min rafʿihi fī fatḥihi
About what appeared from his elevation in his victory,
shukran lira’fatihi binā walinuṣḥihi
Thanks for his compassion towards us and his advice,
ḍāqar rawayyu falā yuḥāṭu bimadḥihi
ābadan wabaḥrul ʿilmi minhu muḥīṭu
The rhyme is tight, so his praise cannot be encompassed,
Ever, and the sea of knowledge from him is vast,
dhākar raḥīmu binal ḥarīṣu linuṣḥinā
That merciful one with us, eager for our guidance,
mā zāla yurshidunā limanhaji ribḥinā
He continues to guide us to the path of our profit,
jallat maʿānī faḍlihi ʿan sharḥinā
The meanings of his grace are beyond our explanation,
ḍaʿufat madā’iḥunā faghāyatu madḥinā
fīhi wajīzun wal fakhāru basīṭu
Our praises are weak, so the ultimate praise,
In him is concise and the glory is simple,
bushrā liman yumlī madā’iḥa aḥmadin
Good news for those who recite the praises of Ahmad,
wahwal ladhī yahnā bikhulqin aḥmadin
And he who rejoices with a praiseworthy character,
innī aqūlu ʿasā arā min musʿidin
I say, perhaps I will see from a helper,
ḍarrabtuhā alfāẓa madḥi muḥammadin
naẓẓamtuhā kad durri wahwa samīṭu
I struck the words of Muhammad's praise,
I organized them like pearls, and they are a string,
āyātu amdāḥil ḥabībi talawtuhā
The verses of the beloved's praises I recited,
warusūmu āthārith thanā’i qafawtuhā
And the traces of praise I followed,
labbat biḥusnil ʿaṭfi ḥīna daʿawtuhā
They responded with good affection when I called them,
ḍammantuhā awṣāfahu wajalawtuhā
bikran lahā ḥubbul qulūbi nuqūṭu
I included his attributes and revealed them,
Virgin, for her the love of hearts is a dot,
min ḍaw’i aḥmada mā tabaddā min ḍiyā
From Ahmad's light what appeared from brightness,
nūrul wujūdi watāju kullil anbiyā
The light of existence and the crown of all prophets,
andal kirāmi nadan wa awfaruhum ḥayā
The most generous of the generous in giving and the most modest,
ḍāhat yadāhus suḥba muzrimatal ḥayā
fajarat ghizāran min nadāhu shuṭūṭu
His hands rival the clouds in abundant modesty,
And from his bounty, the shores flowed abundantly,
āyātu ṭaha laysa yuḥṣā naʿtuhā
The verses of Taha cannot be counted in description,
hayhāta hadhā mālahu min muntahā
Alas, this has no end,
wakitābuhu fīl kutbi aḍḥā thabtuhā
And his book in the books became established,
ḍabaṭan nabiyyu kitābanā ḥīnan tahā
bil waḥyi lilrrūḥil amīni hubūṭu
The Prophet recorded our book when it ended,
With the revelation to the faithful spirit descending,
qālan nadhīrur jiʿ lirabbika wan tabidh
The warner said, return to your Lord and withdraw,
thawbal hawā wakhudhid dikāraka wat takhidh
The garment of desire and take your remembrance and adopt,
dhaylaṣ ṣabā biḍiyash shuyūkhati idh ḥubidh
The hem of youth with the light of old age when praised,
ḍaḥikal mashību muqahqihan fabakaytu idh
ẓaharat lahu fī ʿāriḍayya khuyūṭu
Old age laughed mockingly, and I cried when,
Threads appeared on my temples,
īā sayyidan qad ḥāza faḍlan kulla jad
O master, who has attained every honor,
waḥawal ladhī lam yaḥwihi aṣlan aḥad
And possessed what no one else ever possessed,
anā ʿabdukal jānīl murajjiā lilmadad
I am your sinful servant hoping for aid,
ḍayyaʿtu awqātal ḥayāti sudan waqad
kutibat bihā fawqal jabīni khuṭūṭu
I wasted the times of life in vain, and indeed,
Lines were written on the forehead,
yā man bihi qad sāda man huwa qablahu
O you, by whom those before him were surpassed,
wa ashāda muʿlīhil karīmu maḥallahu
And the noble one raised his rank,
qālal muḥibbu waqad ghadawtum shughlahu
The lover said, and you have become his concern,
ḍajiʿas suluwwu bimuhjatī maytun lahu
min mā’i damʿī ghāsilun waḥunūṭu
The solace lay with my soul, dead to it,
From the water of my tears a washer and embalming,
qalbī dawaman lilḥabībi mushāhidun
My heart is always witnessing the beloved,
ṣiltī bihi wajdī waṭarfī sāhidun
My connection with him is my passion and my eye is awake,
waʿalayhi min kalafī ḍamīrun ʿā’idun
And upon him from my longing, my conscience returns,
ḍaʿfīd dalīlu wafawqa khaddī shāhidu
saṭruṣ firārī muʿrabun manqūṭu
My weakness is the evidence, and on my cheek is a witness,
The line of my paleness is expressed and dotted.
