فَزَّازِيَّة
Fazzaziyya
En

حرف الياء (ي)

أَطْوِ الضُّلُوعَ بِحُبِّ أَحْمَدَ أَيُّ طَيْ
aṭwiḍ ḍulūʿa biḥubbi aḥmada ayyu ṭay
Fold your ribs with love for Ahmad, oh what a fold,
لِتَكُونَ فِي الدَّارَيْنِ حَيًّا أَيُّ حَيْ
litakūna fīd dārayni ḥayyan ayyu ḥay
So that in both abodes you may live, oh what a life.
وَاسْمَعْ مَقَالَاً لَيْسَ فِيهِ قَطُّ لَيْ
was maʿ maqālāan laysa fīhi qaṭṭu lay
Listen to a speech that never contains a "no,"
لَا تَـمْدَحَنْ بِبَدِيعِ شِعْرِكَ يَا أُخَيْ
غَيْرَ النَّبِيِّ الـمَبْعُوثِ حَقّاً مِنْ قُصَيْ
lā tamdaḥan bibadīʿi shiʿrika yā ukhay
ghayran nabiyyil mabʿūthi ḥaqqan min quṣay
Do not praise with your exquisite poetry, oh brother,
Anyone other than the Prophet truly sent from Qusay.
كَمُلَ اْلكَمَـالُ بِنُورِ بَـهْجَةِ أَحْمَدِ
kamula lkamālu binūri bahjati aḥmadi
Perfection was completed with the light of Ahmad's splendor,
وَسَنَاهُ قِبْلَةُ وَجْهِ كُلِّ مُوَحِّدِ
wasanāhu qiblatu wajhi kulli muwaḥḥidi
And his radiance is the direction of every monotheist's face.
إِنْسَانُ عَيْنِ الـجُودِ أَشْرَفُ سَيِّدِ
insānu ʿaynil jūdi ashrafu sayyidi
The human eye of generosity, the most noble master,
لَا شَيْءَ أَطْيَبُ مِنْ مَدِيحِ مُحَمَّدِ
كَرِّرْ عَلَيَّ مَدِيـحَهُ كَرِّرْ عَلَيْ
lā shay’a aṭyabu min madīḥi muḥammadi
karrir ʿalayya madīḥahu karrir ʿalay
Nothing is more delightful than the praise of Muhammad.
Repeat his praise to me, repeat it again,
فَأَدِرْ كُؤُوساً مِنْهُ لِي تُشْفِي الظَّمَـا
fa adir kuūsan minhu lī tushfīẓ ẓamā
So pour cups from it for me to quench the thirst,
وَتُزِيلُ عَنْ عَيْنِي الـمَقرَّحَةِ العَمَـا
watuzīlu ʿan ʿaynīl maqrraḥatil ʿamā
And remove from my sore eyes the blindness.
مَدْحِي لَهُ فَخْرِي وَمَنْ رَفَعَ السَّمَـا
madḥī lahu fakhrī waman rafaʿas samā
My praise for him is my pride and the One who raised the sky,
لَا مَدْحَ لِي فِي كَابِرٍ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا
كَرَّرْتُ مَدْحِي فِيهِ قَرَّتْ مُقْلَتَيْ
lā madḥa lī fī kābirin min baʿdi mā
karrartu madḥī fīhi qarrat muqlatay
No praise for me in any noble after what
I repeated my praise in him, my eyes were pleased.
إنَّ القَرِيضَ بِمَدْحِ طَهَ قَدْ عَلَا
ānnal qarīḍa bimadḥi ṭaha qad ʿalā
Indeed, poetry has risen with the praise of Taha,
وَسَمَـا فَخَاراً مَنْ بِهِ فِيهِ تَلَا
wasamā fakhāran man bihi fīhi talā
And it elevated the pride of those who recited it.
مَا لِي سِوَاهُ ذَخِيرَةً وَتَوَسُّلَا
mā lī siwāhu dhakhīratan watawassulā
I have no treasure or intercession but him,
لَا وَالَّذِي نَبَّاهُ حَقّاً مَا حَلَا
إِنْ مَرَّ غَيْرُ مَدِيـحِهِ فِي مَسْمَعَيْ
lā wal ladhī nabbāhu ḥaqqan mā ḥalā
in marra ghayru madīḥihi fī masmaʿay
By the One who truly informed him, nothing is sweet
If other than his praise passes through my ears.
إنَّ الإِلَـٰهَ بِهِ إِلَيْهِ قَدْ سَرَى
ānnal ilāha bihi ilayhi qad sarā
Indeed, God has journeyed to him through him,
أَعْلاهُ فَوْقَ الـمُرْسَلِينَ وَأَظْهَرَا
aʿlāhu fawqal mursalīna wa aẓharā
He elevated him above the messengers and made him manifest,
وَبِهِ لَقَدْ فُزْنَا وَحُزْنَا الـمَفْخَرا
wabihi laqad fuznā waḥuznal mafkharā
And with him, we have won and gained the honor.
لَا غِرْوَ إِنْ سُدْنَا بِهِ كُلَّ الوَرَى
فَلَنَا الفَخَارُ بِفَخْرِهِ نَشْراً وَطَيْ
lā ghirwa in sudnā bihi kullal warā
falanal fakhāru bifakhrihi nashran waṭay
No wonder if we lead all creation through him,
For us, the pride in his pride, spreading and folding.
بِمَدِيحِ طَهَ كَرْبَنَا قَدْ حَلَّهُ
bimadīḥi ṭaha karbanā qad ḥallahu
With the praise of Taha, our distress has been resolved,
مَنْ يَكْشِفُ الضَّرَّا وَيُولِي فَضْلَهُ
man yakshifuḍ ḍarrā wayūlī faḍlahu
The one who removes harm and bestows his grace.
مَنْ يَمْدَحُ الـهَادِي الأَنَامَ سُبْلَهُ
man yamdaḥul hādīl anāma sublahu
Whoever praises the guide of humanity, his paths,
لَازَمْتُ مَدْحِي فِيهِ بَل حُبِّي لَهُ
فَغَدَوْتُ زَهْواً رَافِلاً في حُلَّتَيْ
lāzamtu madḥī fīhi bal ḥubbī lahu
faghadawtu zahwan rāfilan fī ḥullatay
I adhered to my praise in him and my love for him,
So I became proud, adorned in two garments.
يَا عَاذِلي دَعْنِي فَلَسْتُ بِمُسْعِدٍ
yā ʿādhilī daʿnī falastu bimusʿidin
Oh critic, leave me, for I am not a helper,
مَدْحِيَ فِي الـمُخْتَارِ أَعْظَمُ مَقْصَدٍ
madḥiya fīl mukhtāri aʿẓamu maqṣadin
My praise for the chosen one is the greatest goal.
هُوَ عُدَّتِي وَمِنَ الضَّلَالَةِ مُرْشِدٍ
huwa ʿuddatī waminaḍ ḍalālati murshidin
He is my provision and the guide from misguidance,
لَا حَظَّ لِي فِي مَدْحِ غَيْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ
كَلَّا وَلَا أَرْضَى بِتَشْبِيبِي بِمَيْ
lā ḥaẓẓa lī fī madḥi ghayri muḥammadin
kallā walā arḍā bitashbībī bimay
I have no share in praising anyone but Muhammad,
Certainly, I am not content with my poetry for May.
عَمَّ الأَنَامَ بِوَابِلٍ مِنْ غَيْثِهِ
ʿammal anāma biwābilin min ghaythihi
He showered humanity with a downpour from his rain,
وَمَـحَى الظَّلامَ بِعُزْوَةٍ وَبِغَوْثِهِ
wamaḥaẓ ẓalāma biʿuzwatin wabighawthihi
And erased the darkness with his might and his aid.
وَلَقَدْ تَسَامَى الكَوْنُ عِنْدَ حُدُوثِهِ
walaqad tasāmal kawnu ʿinda ḥudūthihi
Indeed, the universe rose at his occurrence,
لَاحَ السُّعُودُ عَلَى الوُجُودِ بِبَعْثِهِ
وَأَزَاحَ عَنَّا كُلَّ إِضْلَالٍ وَغَيْ
lāḥas suʿūdu ʿalal wujūdi bibaʿthihi
wa azāḥa ʿannā kulla iḍlālin waghay
Good fortune shone upon existence with his mission,
And removed from us all misguidance and deviation.
أَخْلَاقُهُ جَلَّتْ وَعَنْ آيَاتِهِ
akhlāquhu jallat waʿan āyātihi
His morals are exalted, and about his signs,
عَجَزَ الوَرَى كُلًّا وَعَنْ غَايَاتِهِ
ʿajazal warā kullan waʿan ghāyātihi
All creation is incapable, and about his goals,
قَدْ أَفْحَمَ الأَلبَابَ كُنْهُ ذَاتِهِ
qad afḥamal albāba kunhu dhātihi
He has silenced the minds with the essence of his being,
لَا لَفْظَ يَحْصُرُ بَعْضَ حُسْنِ صِفَاتِهِ
لَكِنَّها لَـمَّـا حَلَتْ عَذُبَتْ لَدَيْ
lā lafẓa yaḥṣuru baʿḍa ḥusni ṣifātihi
lakinnahā lammā ḥalat ʿadhubat laday
No word can encompass some of his good qualities,
But when they appeared, they became sweet to me.
نُورُ هُدَاهُ عَلَى البَرِيَّةِ سَاطِعٌ
nūru hudāhu ʿalal bariyyati sāṭiʿun
The light of his guidance shines upon creation,
وَلِكُلِّ عَاصٍ فِي القِيَامَةِ شَافِعٌ
walikulli ʿāṣin fīl qiyāmati shāfiʿun
And for every sinner on the Day of Resurrection, an intercessor,
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيهِ فَيَرْضَى سَامِعٌ
walasawfa yuʿṭīhi fayarḍā sāmiʿun
And he will be given until he is pleased, a listener,
لِأَجَلِّ رُسْلِ اللهِ فَضْلٌ وَاسِعٌ
عَمَّ البَرِيَّةَ ظَاهِراً فِي كُلِّ شَيْ
liajalli ruslillāhi faḍlun wāsiʿun
ʿammal bariyyata ẓāhiran fī kulli shay
For the greatest of God's messengers, a vast grace,
Manifest to creation in every thing.
أُلـهِمْتُ في مَدْحِ النَّبِيِّ فَرَائِداً
ulhimtu fī madḥin nabiyyi farā’idan
I was inspired in the praise of the Prophet with unique pearls,
نَظَمَتْ لِإِيـجَادِ الكَمَـالِ قَلائِداً
naẓamat liījādil kamāli qalā’idan
That strung to create perfection necklaces.
أَرْجُو بِـهَا يَوْمَ الـجَزَاءِ عَوَائِداً
arjū bihā yawmal jazā’i ʿawā’idan
I hope with them on the Day of Recompense for returns,
لَاقَيْتُ في نَظْمِ القَرِيضِ فَوَائِداً
حَلَتْ بِتَحْبِيبِ الـمَدِيحِ لَهُ إِلَيْ
lāqaytu fī naẓmil qarīḍi fawā’idan
ḥalat bitaḥbībil madīḥi lahu ilay
I found benefits in composing poetry,
They became sweet by endearing the praise of him to me.
