Fazzaziyya

حرف الـهاء (ه)

قَدَ جَلَّ مَدْحُ الـمُصْطَفَى وَثَنَاؤُهُ
qada jalla madḥul muṣṭafā wathanāuhu
Sublime indeed is the praise and eulogy of the Chosen One
تَتْلُوهُ فِي فُرْقَانِهِ قُرَّاؤُهُ
tatlūhu fī furqānihi qurrāuhu
Its reciters recite it within His Criterion
وَلَقَدْ أَحَاطَتْ بِالوَرَى آلَاؤُهُ
walaqad aḥāṭat bil warā ālāuhu
And indeed his favors have encompassed all creation
نُورُ النَّبِيِّ عَلَى الوُجُودِ سَنَاؤُهُ
يَـهْدِي الوُفُودَ إِلَى الـهُدَى لَأْلَاؤُهُ
nūrun nabiyyi ʿalal wujūdi sanāuhu
yahdīl wufūda ilal hudā la’lāuhu
The Prophet's light is the radiance over existence
Its brilliance guides the delegations to guidance
بِجَمَـالِهِ انْجَابَتْ دَيَاجِيرُ الفِتَنْ
bijamālihin jābat dayājīrul fitan
Through his beauty, the dense darkness of tribulations was dispelled
وَتَبَلَجَّتْ جَهْراً مَصَابِيحُ السُّنَنْ
watabalajjat jahran maṣābīḥus sunan
And the lamps of the Sunnahs shone forth openly
وَبِهِ اسْتَنَارَ مِنَ الـهُدَى أَبْـهَى سَنَنْ
wabihis tanāra minal hudā abhā sanan
Through him, the most splendid path of guidance was illuminated
نُورُ الإِلَـٰهِ الـمُسْتَضَاءُ بِهِ وَمَنْ
قَدْ كَشَفَتْ ضَرَّاءَنَا سَرَّاؤُهُ
nūrul ilāhil mustaḍā’u bihi waman
qad kashafat ḍarrā’anā sarrāuhu
The light of God through whom illumination is sought, and he whose
Prosperity has dispelled our adversity
إنَّ القَرِيضَ صَفَتْ وُرُودُ مِيَاهِهِ
ānnal qarīḍa ṣafat wurūdu miyāhihi
Verily, the sources of poetry's waters have become pure
بِمَدِيحِ مَنْ نَرْجُو الـمُنَا مِنْ جَاهِهِ
bimadīḥi man narjūl munā min jāhihi
Through the praise of him from whose rank we hope for our desires
نَظْمِي بِهِ يَعْلُو عَلَى أَشْبَاهِهِ
naẓmī bihi yaʿlū ʿalā ashbāhihi
Through him, my verse rises above its peers
نِعْمَ الرَّسُولُ أَتَى بِوَحْيِ إِلَـٰهِهِ
سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَقَدَّسَتْ أَسْمَـاؤُهُ
niʿmar rasūlu atā biwaḥyi ilāhihi
subḥānahu wataqaddasat asmāuhu
Excellent is the Messenger who came with the revelation of his God
Glory be to Him, and hallowed are His names
نَصَرَ الإِلَـٰهُ بِأَحْمَدٍ أَحْزَابَهُ
naṣaral ilāhu bi aḥmadin aḥzābahu
Through Ahmad, God granted victory to His parties
وَحَمَى مِنَ البَلوَى بِهِ أَحْبَابَهُ
waḥamā minal balwā bihi aḥbābahu
And through him, He protected His beloved ones from affliction
إِنْ مَسَّنَا ضَيْمٌ قَرَعْنَا بَابَهُ
in massanā ḍaymun qaraʿnā bābahu
If injustice touches us, we knock at his door
نَأْتِيِهِ ضُلَّالاً نَؤُمُّ جَنَابَهُ
فَيُظِلَّنَا يَوْمَ النُّشُورِ لِوَاؤُهُ
na’tiyihi ḍullaālan naummu janābahu
fayuẓillanā yawman nushūri liwāuhu
We come to him astray, seeking his presence
That his banner may shade us on the Day of Resurrection
بَدْرُ الوُجُودِ مَـحَا الظَّلامَ جَبِينُهُ
badrul wujūdi maḥaẓ ẓalāma jabīnuhu
Full moon of existence, his forehead erased the darkness
وَنَفَى جَمِيعَ الإرْتِيَابِ يَقِينُهُ
wanafā jamīʿal ārtiyābi yaqīnuhu
And his certainty banished all doubt
وَظُهُورُهُ لَـمَّـا اسْتَنَارَ مُبِينُهُ
waẓuhūruhu lammas tanāra mubīnuhu
And his appearance, when his manifest proof shone bright
نُشِرَتْ شَرِيعَتُهُ وَأُظْهِرَ دِينُهُ
بَعْدَ الـخَفَاءِ وَنُوِّرَتْ ظَلمَـاؤُهُ
nushirat sharīʿatuhu wa uẓhira dīnuhu
baʿdal khafā’i wanuwwirat ẓalmāuhu
His Law was spread and his religion was made manifest
After concealment, and its darkness was illuminated
قَمَرٌ عَلَى أُفُقِ الكَمَـالِ قَدِ اعْتَلَا
qamarun ʿalā ufuqil kamāli qadiʿ talā
A moon that has ascended upon the horizon of perfection
فَرْدٌ جَلِيلُ القَدْرِ بَاهِي الـمُجْتَلا
fardun jalīlul qadri bāhīl mujtalā
Unique, of majestic worth, radiant in appearance
بِأَجَلِّ أَوْصَافِ الجَمَـالِ تَـهَلَّلا
bi ajalli awṣāfil jamāli tahallalā
With the most sublime attributes of beauty, he beamed
نَائِي الـمَحَلِّ عَلَى الـمُشَابِهِ فِي العُلَا
فَهْوَ الفَرِيدُ وَشَاهِدِي إسْرَاؤُهُ
nā’īl maḥalli ʿalal mushābihi fīl ʿulā
fahwal farīdu washāhidī asrāuhu
Distant in station from any peer in loftiness
For he is the unique one, and my witness is his Night Journey
وَافَيْتُ مَدْحَ الـمُصْطَفَى بِسَفِينَةٍ
wāfaytu madḥal muṣṭafā bisafīnatin
I approached the praise of the Chosen One with a vessel
مِنْ جَاهِهِ فَبَلَغْتُ خَيْرَ مَدِينَةٍ
min jāhihi fabalaghtu khayra madīnatin
Of his high rank, so I reached the best city
فَشَهِدْتُ مَنْ قَدْ هِيبَ وَهْوَ بِطِينَةٍ
fashahidtu man qad hība wahwa biṭīnatin
Then I witnessed him who was revered while yet in clay
نَأْتِيهِ مُتَّزِراً إِزَارَ سَكِينَةٍ
يُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ وَقَارُهُ وَحَيَاؤُهُ
na’tīhi muttaziran izāra sakīnatin
yuthnī ʿalayhi waqāruhu waḥayāuhu
We approach him wrapped in the mantle of tranquility
While his dignity and modesty offer him praise
غَيْثُ الوَرَى إِنْ أَمْـحَلَتْ أَوْ أَوْشَكَتْ
ghaythul warā in amḥalat aw awshakat
Rain of creation if it suffers drought or if near
كُرَبٌ بِـهَا دُهِشَتْ نُـهَانَا وَاشْتَكَتْ
kurabun bihā duhishat nuhānā wash takat
Distresses occur, by which our minds are dazed and complain
مِنْ جُودِهِ إنَّ السَّحَائِبَ قَدْ بَكَتْ
min jūdihi annas saḥā’iba qad bakat
Out of his generosity, the clouds have wept
نَسْلُ الكِرَامِ مَنْ إِذَا مَا احْلَوْلَكَتْ
ظُلَمُ الـخُطُوبِ تَبَلَّجَتْ آرَاؤُهُ
naslul kirāmi man idhā maḥ lawlakat
ẓulamul khuṭūbi taballajat ārāuhu
Scion of the noble, he whose, when the darkness
Of calamities thickens, his insights shine forth
بَـهَرَتْ صِفَاتُ الـهَاشِمِيِّ وَأَسْفَرَتْ
baharat ṣifātul hāshimiyyi wa asfarat
The Hashimite’s attributes have dazzled and shone
وَتَعَظَّمَتْ وَلِكُلِّ دَاجٍ نَوَّرَتْ
wataʿaẓẓamat walikulli dājin nawwarat
And grown great, illuminating every darkness
وَعَلَتْ أَيَادِيهِ وَمَاءً فَجَّرَتْ
waʿalat ayādīhi wamā’an fajjarat
And his favors rose high and made water gush forth
نَافَتْ مَكَانَةُ أَحْمَدٍ وَتَطَهَّرَتْ
أَجْدَادُهُ وَتَشَرَّفَتْ آبَاؤُهُ
nāfat makānatu aḥmadin wataṭahharat
ajdāduhu watasharrafat ābāuhu
Ahmad's station surpassed all, and purified were
His ancestors, and honored were his fathers
تُنْبِيكَ عَنْ عَليَاهُ سُورَةُ فَتْحِهِ
tunbīka ʿan ʿalyāhu sūratu fatḥihi
The Surah of Victory informs you of his highness
وَبِرَفْعِهِ في الذِّكْرِ سُورَةُ شَرْحِهِ
wabirafʿihi fīdh dhikri sūratu sharḥihi
And of his elevation in mention, the Surah of Expansion
هُوَ رَحْـمَةٌ عَمَّ الأَنَامَ بِنُصْحِهِ
huwa raḥmatun ʿammal anāma binuṣḥihi
He is a mercy who encompassed mankind with his counsel
نُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ وَلَا نَقُومُ بِمَدْحِهِ
إِذْ لا تَقُومُ بِمَدْحِهِ شُعَرَاؤُهُ
nuthnī ʿalayhi walā naqūmu bimadḥihi
idh lā taqūmu bimadḥihi shuʿarāuhu
We extol him yet we cannot fulfill his praise
For even his poets cannot truly fulfill his praise
هُوَ سَيِّدُ السَّادَاتِ وَهْوَ لَنَا سَنَدْ
huwa sayyidus sādāti wahwa lanā sanad
He is the Master of Masters and he is our support
وَلَكَمْ أفَادَ لِـمُرْتَجٍ وَلَكَمْ أَمَدْ
walakam afāda limurtajin walakam amad
How much he has benefited the hopeful and how much he aided
وَهْوَ الشَّفِيعُ لَنَا بِدُنْيَانَا وَغَدْ
wahwash shafīʿu lanā bidunyānā waghad
And he is the intercessor for us in our world and tomorrow
نَرْجُو شَفَاعَةَ أَحْمَدِ الـهَادِي وَقَدْ
وَسِعَ البَرِيَّةَ بِرُّهُ وَعَطَاؤُهُ
narjū shafāʿata aḥmadil hādī waqad
wasiʿal bariyyata birruhu waʿaṭāuhu
We hope for the intercession of Ahmad the Guide, while
His righteousness and bounty have encompassed all creation
