حُبُّ النَّبِيِّ لَهُ بِهِ تَخْصِيصُ
ḥubbun nabiyyi lahu bihi takhṣīṣu
The love of the Prophet has for him a special distinction
وَعَدُوُّهُ الـمَقْصُورُ وَالـمَنْقُوصُ
waʿaduwwuhul maqṣūru wal manqūṣu
And his enemy is restricted and diminished
فَاسْتَجْلِهَا حِكَمـاً لَـهُنَّ خُصُوصُ
fas tajlihā ḥikaman lahunna khuṣūṣu
So behold them as wisdoms of special character
شَرْعُ النَّبِيِّ مُحَمَّدٍ مَخْصُوصُ
وَرَدَتْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْهُ فِيهِ نُصُوصُ
sharʿun nabiyyi muḥammadin makhṣūṣu
waradat ʿalaynā minhu fīhi nuṣūṣu
The law of the Prophet Muhammad is specified
textual proofs have come down to us from him therein
أَعْظِمْ بِنِعْمَةِ دِينِهِ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ
aʿẓim biniʿmati dīnihi min niʿmatin
How magnificent is the blessing of his religion as a blessing
وَبِرَحْـمَةٍ عُظْمَى بَدَتْ عَنْ رَحْـمَةٍ
wabiraḥmatin ʿuẓmā badat ʿan raḥmatin
And with a supreme mercy that appeared from mercy
إنَّ الـهُدَى كُلَّ الـهُدَى عَنْ حِكْمَةٍ
ānnal hudā kullal hudā ʿan ḥikmatin
Verily, guidance, all guidance, arises from wisdom
شَرْعٌ تَأيَّدَ حُكْمُهُ بِأَئِمَّةٍ
كُلٌّ عَنِ الـحَقِّ الـمُبِينِ فُحُوصُ
sharʿun taāyyada ḥukmuhu bi a’immatin
kullun ʿanil ḥaqqil mubīni fuḥūṣu
A law whose authority is reinforced by Imams
each of whom is an investigator of the manifest Truth
هَل بَعْدَ سُؤْدَدِ مَـجْدِهِ مِنْ سُؤْدَدٍ
hal baʿda su’dadi majdihi min su’dadin
Is there after the sovereignty of his glory any sovereignty
يَسْمُو عَلَى دُرٍّ ثَنَاهُ وَعَسْجَدٍ
yasmū ʿalā durrin thanāhu waʿasjadin
Transcending pearls and pure gold in its splendor
قَدْ فَازَ مَادِحُهُ بِصِدْقِ تَوَدُّدٍ
qad fāza mādiḥuhu biṣidqi tawaddudin
He who praises him has triumphed through sincere affection
شَخْصٌ أَتَى لَـهِجاً بِمَدْحِ مُحَمَّدٍ
أبداً بِأَحْمَدَ رُتْبَةٌ مَخْصُوصُ
shakhṣun atā lahijan bimadḥi muḥammadin
ābdan bi aḥmada rutbatun makhṣūṣu
A person who came with a tongue fluent in the praise of Muhammad
forever through Ahmad a special rank is granted
مُدَّاحُهُ قَدْ خُصِّصُوا بِتَشَرُّفٍ
muddāḥuhu qad khuṣṣiṣū bitasharrufin
Those who praise him have been singled out with honor
مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَتَـحَقَّقُوا بِتَعَرُّفٍ
min faḍlihi wataḥaqqaqū bitaʿarrufin
By his bounty, and they realized through true recognition
فَهْوَ الشَّفِيعُ لَنَا بِدُونِ تَوَقُّفٍ
fahwash shafīʿu lanā bidūni tawaqqufin
For he is the intercessor for us without pause
شَعْثاً تَؤُمُّ جَنَابَهُ في مَوْقِفٍ
لِـحدَائِدِ الأَبْصَارِ فِيهِ شُخُوصُ
shaʿthan taummu janābahu fī mawqifin
liḥdā’idil abṣāri fīhi shukhūṣu
Disheveled ones heading toward his presence at the Station
where keen gazes are fixed in staring
نُورٌ مُبِينٌ حِيرَ فِي إدْرَاكِهِ
nūrun mubīnun ḥīra fī adrākihi
A manifest light whose perception leaves one bewildered
وَسَنَا الحِجَا قَدْ ضَاءَ مِنْ أَفْلَاكِهِ
wasanal ḥijā qad ḍā’a min aflākihi
And the brilliance of intellect has shone from his celestial orbits
عَظُمَ الثَّرَى لَـمَّـا مَشَى بِسِكَاكِهِ
ʿaẓumath tharā lammā mashā bisikākihi
The very soil became great when he walked upon its paths
شَرُفَ الأَرَاكُ وَقَدْ غَدَا بِسِوَاكِهِ
فاهُ الكَرِيمَ لَدَى الصَّلاةِ يَشُوصُ
sharufal arāku waqad ghadā bisiwākihi
h hul karīma ladaṣ ṣalāti yashūṣu
Honored was the Arak tree as its tooth-stick became
that which cleanses his noble mouth at the time of prayer
هَذَا القَرِيضُ بِمَـا حَوَاهُ رَوَى هُدَى
hadhal qarīḍu bimā ḥawāhu rawā hudā
This poem, with what it contains, has narrated guidance
وَجَلَا لِسَامِعِهِ بِمَـا أَمْلَا صَدَى
wajalā lisāmiʿihi bimā amlā ṣadā
And cleared for its listener, through what it dictated, the rust
جَالِي العُقُودِ وَمَا تَرَاهُ مُعَقَّدَا
jālīl ʿuqūdi wamā tarāhu muʿaqqadā
Polisher of pearl strings, and you see it not knotted
شِعْرِي أَرَاهُ إِذَا امْتَدَحْتُ مُحَمَّدَا
سَهْلَ الـمَعَانِي لَيْسَ فِيهِ عَوِيصُ
shiʿrī arāhu idham tadaḥtu muḥammadā
sahlal maʿānī laysa fīhi ʿawīṣu
I see my poetry, when I praise Muhammad
easy in meaning, containing no obscurity
هَذَا الكَلامُ مِنَ الكَمَـالِ لِنَشْرِهِ
hadhal kalāmu minal kamāli linashrihi
This speech is of perfection for its spreading
مَدْحاً لِـمَنْ يَزْكُو الـمَدِيحُ بِذِكْرِهِ
madḥan liman yazkūl madīḥu bidhikrihi
As praise for one by whose mention the praise is purified
إنِّي بِنَظْمِ القَوْلِ فِيهِ وَنَثْرِهِ
ānnī binaẓmil qawli fīhi wanathrihi
Verily I, through the composing of speech about him in verse and prose
شَنَّفْتُ أَسْمَـاعَ الرُّوَاةِ بِدُرِّهِ
إذْ كُنْتُ في بَحْرِ البَدِيعِ أَغُوصُ
shannaftu asmāʿar ruwāti bidurrihi
ādh kuntu fī baḥril badīʿi aghūṣu
Have adorned the ears of narrators with its pearls
as I was diving into the sea of literary eloquence
لِـلَّـٰه دَرُّ أَحِبَّةٍ حَالَفْتُهُمْ
lillāh darru aḥibbatin ḥālaftuhum
To God belongs the excellence of beloved ones whom I befriended
لَكِنَّنِي بِتَخَلُّفِي خَالَفْتُهُمْ
lakinnanī bitakhallufī khālaftuhum
Yet I, by my lagging behind, have differed from them
أَصْبَحْتُ أَشْدُوا عِنْدَمَا جَانَفْتُهُمْ
aṣbaḥtu ashdū ʿindamā jānaftuhum
I have begun to sing while I turned away from them
شَالَتْ رَكَائِبُ رِفْقَتِي وَخَلَفْتُهُمْ
فَرْداً جَنَاحِي عَنْهُمُ مَقْصُوصُ
shālat rakā’ibu rifqatī wakhalaftuhum
fardan janāḥī ʿanhumu maqṣūṣu
The mounts of my companions have departed leaving me behind
alone, my wing being clipped from them
مَنْ لِي بِزَوْرَةِ مَنْ أَسِيرُ بِسَعْدِهِ
man lī bizawrati man asīru bisaʿdihi
Who will grant me a visit to the one by whose fortune I travel
طَهَ الَّذِي جَلَّتْ مَزَايَا مَـجْدِهِ
ṭahal ladhī jallat mazāyā majdihi
Taha, whose attributes of glory are sublime
لَا فَيْضَ إِلَّا فَائِضٌ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ
lā fayḍa illā fā’iḍun min ʿindihi
There is no abundance except that which overflows from him
شُهَدَايَ كُونُوا إِنْ صَحِبْتُ لِقَصْدِهِ
رَكْباً وَأَدَّتْ بِي إِلَيْهِ قُلُوصُ
shuhadāya kūnū in ṣaḥibtu liqaṣdihi
rakban wa addat bī ilayhi qulūṣu
Be my witnesses if I should journey toward his purpose
in a caravan, and a sturdy camel conveys me to him
فَلَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الزَّمَانِ رَبِيعُهُ
falaqad balaghtu minaz zamāni rabīʿuhu
For I have reached of time its springtime
وَحَلَلتُ مِنْ أُفُقِ القَبُولِ رَفِيعُهُ
waḥalaltu min ufuqil qabūli rafīʿuhu
And I have settled in the lofty horizon of acceptance
وَإِذَا شَهِدْتُ رَحِيبَهُ وَرَبِيعَهُ
wa idhā shahidtu raḥībahu warabīʿahu
And when I witness his vast expanse and his spring
شَتَّتُّ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَدَايَ جَـمِيعَهُ
شُكْراً وَلَا يَبْقَى عَلَيَّ قَمِيصُ
shattattu mā malakat yadāya jamīʿahu
shukran walā yabqā ʿalayya qamīṣu
I would scatter all that my hands possess
in gratitude, until not even a shirt remains upon me
مَنْ لِي بِأَنْ أَسْعَى بِغَيْرِ تَـمَهُّلِ
man lī bi an asʿā bighayri tamahhuli
Who will enable me to strive without delay
لِـجَنَابِ خَيْرِ الـخَلقِ ذِي القَدْرِ العَلِي
lijanābi khayril khalqi dhīl qadril ʿalī
Toward the presence of the Best of Creation, the one of high standing
طُوبَى لِطَيْبَةَ وَهْيَ أَطْيَبُ مَنْزِلِ
ṭūbā liṭaybata wahya aṭyabu manzili
Blessed is Tayba, for it is the finest of abodes
شَرَفِي بِزَوْرَةِ أَحْمَدٍ إِنْ صَحَّ لِي
بِجَمِيعِ مُلكِ الأَرْضِ فَهْوَ رَخِيصُ
sharafī bizawrati aḥmadin in ṣaḥḥa lī
bijamīʿi mulkil arḍi fahwa rakhīṣu
My honor in visiting Ahmad, if it be granted to me
over all the kingdoms of the earth, is a bargain
