فَزَّازِيَّة
Fazzaziyya
En

(غ) حرف الغين

بِمَدِيحِ أَحْمَدَ يَبْرَأُ الـمَلدُوغُ
bimadīḥi aḥmada yabra’ul maldūghu
By the praise of Ahmad, the stung one is healed
وَبِذِكْرِهِ لِلمَكْرُمَاتِ بُلُوغُ
wabidhikrihi lilmakrumāti bulūghu
And by his mention, the heights of noble deeds are reached
يَا عَاذِلِي دَعْنِي فَلَسْتُ أرُوغُ
yā ʿādhilī daʿnī falastu arūghu
O my censurer, leave me, for I shall not evade
عَنْ حُبِّ أحْمَدَ قَطُّ لَسْتُ أَزِيغُ
وَبِمَدْحِهِ دُرُّ الكَلامِ أَصُوغُ
ʿan ḥubbi aḥmada qaṭṭu lastu azīghu
wabimadḥihi durrul kalāmi aṣūghu
From Ahmad’s love I never deviate
and with his praise, pearls of speech I fashion
شَمْسٌ لِأُفْقِ المـَجْدِ دُونَ أَكِنَّةٍ
shamsun liufqil majdi dūna akinnatin
A sun for the horizon of glory, without veils
وَلِتَابِعِيهِ حِـمَـاهُ أَحْصَنُ جُنَّةٍ
walitābiʿīhi ḥimāhu aḥṣanu junnatin
And for his followers, his sanctuary is the most fortified shield
قَدْ خُصَّ تَشْرِيفاً بِأَعْلَا جَنَّةٍ
qad khuṣṣa tashrīfan bi aʿlā jannatin
He has been singled out for honor with the highest Paradise
عَالِي الـمَنَارَ إِذَا بَدَا بِدُجُنَّةٍ
فَالبَدْرُ في أُفُقِ الكَمَـالِ بَزُوغُ
ʿālīl manāra idhā badā bidujunnatin
fal badru fī ufuqil kamāli bazūghu
High is his beacon when he appears in deep darkness
for the full moon in the horizon of perfection is rising
مَدْحُ النَّبِيِّ صَفَا وَجَادَ مَصَاغُهُ
madḥun nabiyyi ṣafā wajāda maṣāghuhu
The Prophet’s praise is pure and its crafting is fine
وَحَلَا وَلَذَّ لِذَائِقِيهِ مَسَاغُهُ
waḥalā waladhdha lidhā’iqīhi masāghuhu
Sweet and pleasant is its passage for those who taste it
مَا مِنْ نَدَى إِلَّا لَهُ أَسْبَاغُهُ
mā min nadā illā lahu asbāghuhu
There is no bounty but that he has its abundance
عَلَمُ الـهُدَى يَـهْدِي الأَنَامَ بَلَاغُهُ
وَرَسُولُ صِدْقٍ دَأْبُهُ التَّبْلِيغُ
ʿalamul hudā yahdīl anāma balāghuhu
warasūlu ṣidqin da’buhut tablīghu
The banner of guidance, his proclamation guides mankind
and a Messenger of truth whose constant habit is delivery
هُوَ سَيِّدٌ رَبُّ السَّمَـاءِ يُـجِلُّهُ
huwa sayyidun rabbus samā’i yujilluhu
He is a master whom the Lord of Heaven exalts
هُوَ رَحْـمَةٌ لِلخَلقِ طُرَّا كُلُّهُ
huwa raḥmatun lilkhalqi ṭurrā kulluhu
He is a mercy for all creation, in its entirety
لَوْلَاهُ مَا عُرِفَ النَّوَالَ وَبَذْلُهُ
lawlāhu mā ʿurifan nawāla wabadhluhu
Were it not for him, bounty and its bestowal would not be known
عَمَّتْ أَيَادِيهِ الـجِسَامُ فَظِلُّهُ
ضَافٍ عَلَى كُلِّ الوَرَى مَسْبُوغُ
ʿammat ayādīhil jisāmu faẓilluhu
ḍāfin ʿalā kullil warā masbūghu
His immense favors are universal, thus his shade
is ample and spread over all of creation
لِـمَحَبَّةِ الـمُخْتَارِ قَلبِي مُفْرَدُ
limaḥabbatil mukhtāri qalbī mufradu
For the love of the Chosen One, my heart is singular
وَإِلَيْهِ قَصْدِي مَا بَقِيتُ مُـجَرَّدُ
wa ilayhi qaṣdī mā baqītu mujarradu
And towards him is my aim as long as I remain devoted
هُوَ مُنْيَتِي وَلِقَاؤُهُ لِي مَقْصَدُ
huwa munyatī waliqāuhu lī maqṣadu
He is my desire and meeting him is my objective
عَقْدِي صَحِيحٌ فِي هَوَاهُ مُؤَكَّدُ
وَسِوَى الـحِفَاظِ عَلَيْهِ لَسْتُ أَسِيغُ
ʿaqdī ṣaḥīḥun fī hawāhu muakkadu
wasiwal ḥifāẓi ʿalayhi lastu asīghu
My covenant in his love is sound and affirmed
and naught but its preservation can I find palatable
هُوَ سُؤْلَنَا الـمَطْلُوبُ وَهْوَ حَبِيبُنَا
huwa su’lanal maṭlūbu wahwa ḥabībunā
He is our sought request and he is our beloved
وَمِنَ اعْتِلالاتِ القُلُوبِ طَبِيبُنَا
waminaʿ tilālātil qulūbi ṭabībunā
And for the ailments of the hearts, our physician
هُوَ فِي جَـمِيعِ الكَائِنَاتِ نَصِيبُنَا
huwa fī jamīʿil kā’ināti naṣībunā
He is, among all existence, our portion
عَكَفَتْ عَلَى حُبِّ النَّبِيِّ قُلُوبُنَا
أَبَداً فَلَسْنَا عَنْ هَوَاهُ نَزِيغُ
ʿakafat ʿalā ḥubbin nabiyyi qulūbunā
abadan falasnā ʿan hawāhu nazīghu
Our hearts have devoted themselves to the Prophet’s love
forever, so from his passion we shall not deviate
مَنْ لِي بِتَمْرِيغِ الفُؤَادِ بِمَعْهَدٍ
man lī bitamrīghil fuādi bimaʿhadin
Who will grant me to rub my heart at a sanctuary
فِيهِ لِشَمْسِ الـمَجْدِ أَكْمَلُ مَشْهَدٍ
fīhi lishamsil majdi akmalu mashhadin
Wherein for the sun of glory is the most perfect manifestation
يَا رَبُّ مِنِّي حِلَّ أَسْرَ مُقَيَّدٍ
yā rabbu minnī ḥilla asra muqayyadin
O Lord, release from me the bond of one captive
عَاقَتْ عَوَائِقُ عَنْ زِيَارَةِ أَحْمَدٍ
فَالدَّمْعُ أَحْـمَرُ بِالدِّمَاءِ صَبِيغُ
ʿāqat ʿawā’iqu ʿan ziyārati aḥmadin
fad damʿu aḥmaru bid dimā’i ṣabīghu
Obstacles have hindered the visiting of Ahmad
so the tear is red, dyed with blood
كَمْ بَيْنَ أَضْلَاعِي أُصَعِّدُ زَفْرَةً
kam bayna aḍlāʿī uṣaʿʿidu zafratan
How often between my ribs do I heave a sigh
وَعَلَى خُدُودِي كَمْ أُحَدِّرُ عِبْرَةً
waʿalā khudūdī kam uḥaddiru ʿibratan
And upon my cheeks, how often do I shed a tear
مِنْ سَيِّئَاتٍ أَوْرَثَتْنِي فَتْرَةً
min sayyi’ātin awrathatnī fatratan
From sins that have bequeathed me a state of languor
عُنُقِي يَنُوءُ بِحَمْلِ ذَنْبِي كَثْرَةً
وَبِمَدْحِهِ الذَّنْبُ الثَّقِيلُ فَرُوغُ
ʿunuqī yanū’u biḥamli dhanbī kathratan
wabimadḥihidh dhanbuth thaqīlu farūghu
My neck is burdened by the weight of my many sins
yet by his praise, the heavy sin is discharged
إِنْ شِئْتَ تَـحْيَا بِالـهَنَاءِ وَتَنْتَعِشْ
in shi’ta taḥyā bil hanā’i watantaʿish
If you wish to live in bliss and be revived
فَوِدَادَهُ اجْعَل في فُؤَادِكَ مُنْتَقِشْ
fawidādahuj ʿal fī fuādika muntaqish
Then let his affection be engraved within your heart
وَلَهُ اعْتَمِدْ وَبِهِ فَمُتْ وَعَلَيْهِ عِشْ
walahuʿ tamid wabihi famut waʿalayhi ʿish
Rely upon him, by him die, and upon him live
عُذْنَا بِهِ إخْوَانَ صِدْقٍ لَيْسَ لِلشَّـ
ـيطَانِ كَيْدٌ بَيْنَنَا وَنُزُوغُ
ʿudhnā bihi akhwāna ṣidqin laysa lilshsha
īṭāni kaydun baynanā wanuzūghu
We took refuge in him as sincere brothers; for the Devil
there is no guile or incitement between us
سَاحَاتُ طَهَ عَرِّجَنَّ لِرَحْبِهَا
sāḥātu ṭaha ʿarrijanna liraḥbihā
Turn aside to the spacious courtyards of Taha
تَنْشَقْ عَبِيراً طَيِّباً مِنْ كُثْبِهَا
tanshaq ʿabīran ṭayyiban min kuthbihā
That you may inhale a fragrant scent from its dunes
وَتَقَرَّ عَيْناً مَا حَيِيتَ بِقُرْبِـهَا
wataqarra ʿaynan mā ḥayīta biqurbihā
And be delighted for as long as you live by its proximity
عَرَصَاتُ أَحْمَدَ لَوْ مَرَرْتَ بِتُرْبِـهَا
لَـحَلَا بِـهَا لِـخُدُودِكَ التَّمْرِيغُ
ʿaraṣātu aḥmada law mararta biturbihā
laḥalā bihā likhudūdikat tamrīghu
The open courts of Ahmad, were you to pass by its dust
it would be sweet for your cheeks to be rubbed therein
بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي مَنْ سَمَـا عَنْ مُشْبِهِ
bi abī wa ummī man samā ʿan mushbihi
By my father and mother, he who rose above any peer
وَسَبَتْ مَـحَاسِنُهُ حَشَاشَةَ صَبِّهِ
wasabat maḥāsinuhu ḥashāshata ṣabbihi
And whose beauties have captivated the soul of his lover
وَقْفاً عَلَيْهِ وِدَادُ قَلبِ مُـحِبِّهِ
waqfan ʿalayhi widādu qalbi muḥibbihi
Devoted to him alone is the love of his admirer's heart
عَاهَدْتُهُ إِنِّي أَمُوتُ بِحُبِّهِ
وَيَزِيغُ ثَمْلانٌ وَلَسْتُ أَزِيغُ
ʿāhadtuhu innī amūtu biḥubbihi
wayazīghu thamlānun walastu azīghu
I have covenanted with him to die in his love
and while the intoxicated one deviates, I shall not deviate
