فَزَّازِيَّة
Fazzaziyya
En

(د) حرف الدال

حَوْضُ النَّبِيِّ الـمُصْطَفَى مَوْرُودُ
ḥawḍun nabiyyil muṣṭafā mawrūdu
The basin of the Chosen Prophet is a place of resort
وَلِوَاؤُهُ يَوْمَ الـجَزَا مَعْقُودُ
waliwāuhu yawmal jazā maʿqūdu
And his banner on the Day of Requital is bound
وَالكَائِنَاتُ تَقُولُ وَهْيَ شُهُودُ
wal kā’inātu taqūlu wahya shuhūdu
And all creations say, while they bear witness
خَيْرُ الأَنَامِ مُحَمَّدُ الـمَحْمُودُ
وَالـخَيْرُ أجْمَعُ عِنْدَهُ مَوْجُودُ
khayrul anāmi muḥammadul maḥmūdu
wal khayru ajmaʿu ʿindahu mawjūdu
The best of mankind is Muhammad, the Praiseworthy
and all goodness in its entirety is found in his presence
حَسْبِي كَفَانِي فِي ثَنَاهُ مَدَائِحاً
ḥasbī kafānī fī thanāhu madā’iḥan
Sufficient for me are the panegyrics in his praise
تُعْلِي الَّذِي مَا زَالَ يُنْشِدُ مَادِحاً
tuʿlīl ladhī mā zāla yunshidu mādiḥan
Exalting him who continues to chant as a praiser
غَرَّدْتُ أَشْدُو فِي ثَنَاهُ صَادِحاً
gharradtu ashdū fī thanāhu ṣādiḥan
I warbled, singing his praise aloud
خُذْ مِنْ مَدِيـحِي فِي عُلَاهُ مَنَائِحاً
تُبْدِي بَدِيعَ صِفَاتِهِ وَتُعِيدُ
khudh min madīḥī fī ʿulāhu manā’iḥan
tubdī badīʿa ṣifātihi watuʿīdu
Take from my praise of his loftiness gifts
that reveal his wondrous attributes and repeat them
هُوَ وَاحِدٌ لِلفَضْلِ أَجْمَعُ جَامِعٌ
huwa wāḥidun lilfaḍli ajmaʿu jāmiʿun
He is unique, gathering all virtues within himself
وَالنُّورُ مِنْهُ عَلَى البَرِيَّةِ سَاطِعٌ
wan nūru minhu ʿalal bariyyati sāṭiʿun
And the light from him shines upon all creation
وَلَهُ كَمَـا قَدْ قَالَ رَبٌّ وَاسِعٌ
walahu kamā qad qāla rabbun wāsiʿun
And he possesses, as the Vast Lord has said
خُلقٌ عَظِيمٌ خَاشِعٌ مُتَوَاضِعٌ
في كُلِّ أَوْصَافِ الكَمَـالِ فَرِيدُ
khulqun ʿaẓīmun khāshiʿun mutawāḍiʿun
fī kulli awṣāfil kamāli farīdu
A character magnificent, humble, and modest
unique in every attribute of perfection
أَعْظِمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَاجِدٍ شَرَفاً حَوَى
aʿẓim bihi min mājidin sharafan ḥawā
How great is he, a glorious one who encompasses honor
مَهْمَـا تَكَلَّمَ لَيْسَ يَنْطِقُ عَنْ هَوَى
mahmā takallama laysa yanṭiqu ʿan hawā
Whenever he speaks, he speaks not from whim
أَوْصَافُهُ العُليَا رَوَاهَا مَنْ رَوَى
awṣāfuhul ʿulyā rawāhā man rawā
His loftiest traits were narrated by those who recount
خَـمْصَانَ مِنْ سَغَبٍ يَبِيتُ عَلَى الطَّوَى
مُتَهَجِّداً وَالغَافِلُونَ هُجُودُ
khamṣāna min saghabin yabītu ʿalaṭ ṭawā
mutahajjidan wal ghāfilūna hujūdu
Lean-bellied from hunger, spending the night fasting
in prayer while the heedless are in deep slumber
وَلَقَدْ تَـجَلَّى مُنْذِراً وَمُبَشِّراً
walaqad tajallā mundhiran wamubashshiran
He appeared as a warner and a bringer of glad tidings
مُتَهَلِّلاً خَلقاً تَسَامَى مَنْظَرَا
mutahallilan khalqan tasāmā manẓarā
Radiant in form, his appearance is most sublime
وَمُعَظَّمـاً خُلُقاً عَظِيمـاً أَكْبَرَا
wamuʿaẓẓaman khuluqan ʿaẓīman akbarā
Venerated in character, magnificent and grand
خَبَراً رَوَيْنَا أَنَّهُ خَيْرُ الوَرَى
وَلَهُ الـمَقَامُ الأَرْفَعُ الـمَحْمُودُ
khabaran rawaynā annahu khayrul warā
walahul maqāmul arfaʿul maḥmūdu
We have received word that he is the best of mortals
and for him is the highest station of praise
أَكْرِمْ بِرِفْعَتِهِ وَعِزِّ جَنَابِهِ
akrim birifʿatihi waʿizzi janābihi
How noble is his height and the might of his presence
وَبِبَدْئِهِ إِذْ آدَمٌ بِتُرَابِهِ
wabibad’ihi idh ādamun biturābihi
And his beginning, when Adam was yet in his clay
هُوَ فَوْقَ كُلِّ مُـمَـاثِلٍ وَمُشَابِهِ
huwa fawqa kulli mumāthilin wamushābihi
He is above every peer or likeness
خَتَمَ النُّبُوَّةَ فَاتِـحاً بِصِحَابِهِ
لِـلَّـهِ مِنْهُمْ رُكَّعٌ وَسُجُودُ
khataman nubuwwata fātiḥan biṣiḥābihi
lillāhi minhum rukkaʿun wasujūdu
He sealed the Prophethood, opening the way through his companions
who for God are bowing and prostrating
هُوَ أَوَّلٌ هُوَ آخِرٌ نُورُ العُلَا
huwa awwalun huwa ākhirun nūrul ʿulā
He is the first, he is the last, the light of the heights
وَلِعَيْنِ أَعْيَانِ الوُجُودِ بِهِ جَلَا
waliʿayni aʿyānil wujūdi bihi jalā
And to the quintessence of existence, through him was clarity
لَـمَّـا تَـجَلَّى بِالـهُدَى وَتَنَزَّلَا
lammā tajallā bil hudā watanazzalā
When he appeared with guidance and descended
خَضَعَتْ لِـهَيْبَتِهِ القُلُوبُ وَقَدْ عَلَا
أَعْلَا مَقَامِ الـمَجْدِ وَهْوَ وَلِيدُ
khaḍaʿat lihaybatihil qulūbu waqad ʿalā
aʿlā maqāmil majdi wahwa walīdu
Hearts submitted to his awe, and he ascended
to the highest station of glory while yet a child
هُوَ رَحْمَةٌ حَوَتِ الـمُطِيعَ وَمَنْ عَصَى
huwa raḥmatun ḥawatil muṭīʿa waman ʿaṣā
He is a mercy encompassing the obedient and the sinner
بِعَمِيمِ مَرْحَـمَةٍ بَدَى مُتَخَصِّصَا
biʿamīmi marḥamatin badā mutakhaṣṣiṣā
With universal compassion, he appeared uniquely chosen
عَمَّ البَرِيَّةَ بِالنَّوَالِ وَخَصَّصَا
ʿammal bariyyata bin nawāli wakhaṣṣaṣā
He bestowed gifts upon all creation and favored the elect
خِصْبُ العَطَا لَوْ مَسَّ جُلمُودُ الحَصَا
يَوْماً لَرَقَّ وَأَوْرَقَ الجَلمُودُ
khiṣbul ʿaṭā law massa julmūdul ḥaṣā
yawman laraqqa wa awraqal jalmūdu
Abundant giving, which if it touched a solid stone
one day the boulder would soften and sprout leaves
قَدْ جَلَّ قَدْراً وَالإِلَـٰهُ مُـجِلُّهُ
qad jalla qadran wal ilāhu mujilluhu
He is exalted in rank, and God is His Exalter
فَرْدٌ تَفَرَّدَ عَصْرُهُ وَمَـحَلُّهُ
fardun tafarrada ʿaṣruhu wamaḥalluhu
Peerless, unique in his age and his station
بُشْرَى غَداً لِفَتىً حَـمَـاهُ فَضْلُهُ
bushrā ghadan lifatan ḥamāhu faḍluhu
Glad tidings on the morrow for the youth whom his grace protects
خَسِرَتْ يَدَا مَنْ جَاءَ لَيْسَ يُظِلُّهُ
يَوْمَ الـحِسَابِ لِوَاؤُهُ الـمَعْقُودُ
khasirat yadā man jā’a laysa yuẓilluhu
yawmal ḥisābi liwāuhul maʿqūdu
Ruined are the hands of him who arrives without the shade
on the Day of Reckoning of his bound banner
أَمْدَاحُ طَهَ بالوِلَا حَكَّمْتْهُا
amdāḥu ṭaha bālwilā ḥakkamthuā
I have governed the praises of Taha with devotion
وَبِأُنْسِ وَجْدٍ قُلتُهَا وَرَقَمْتُهَا
wabiunsi wajdin qultuhā waraqamtuhā
And with the intimacy of ecstasy, I spoke and inscribed them
وَهْيَ الوَسِيلَةُ لِي إِلَيْهِ أَقَمْتُهَا
wahyal wasīlatu lī ilayhi aqamtuhā
They are the means I have established unto him
خُذْهَا مَدَائِحُ فِي النَّبِيِّ نَظَمْتُهَا
أَبَداً تُرِيكَ لَبِيْدُ وَهْوَ بَلِيدُ
khudhhā madā’iḥu fīn nabiyyi naẓamtuhā
abadan turīka labiydu wahwa balīdu
Take these praises of the Prophet that I have composed
forever showing you Labid, though the poet be dull
