Fazzaziyya

سَادَتْ بِمَجْدِ الـهَاشِمِيِّ قُرَيْشُ
sādat bimajdil hāshimiyyi qurayshu
Quraysh attained sovereignty through the glory of the Hashimite
وَبِهِ زَهَا عَرْشٌ وَعَزَّ عَرِيشُ
wabihi zahā ʿarshun waʿazza ʿarīshu
By him the Throne flourished and the canopy was exalted
وَبِذِكْرِهِ لَا يَعْتَرِي التَّشْوِيشُ
wabidhikrihi lā yaʿtarīt tashwīshu
By his remembrance no confusion shall prevail
سَهْمُ الـمَدَائِحِ فِي النَّبِيِّ مَرِيشُ
وَبِجَاهِهِ أَنَا فِي الوُجُودِ أَعِيشُ
sahmul madā’iḥi fīn nabiyyi marīshu
wabijāhihi anā fīl wujūdi aʿīshu
The arrow of praise for the Prophet is feathered
and by his status I live within existence
جَلَّ الَّذِي أَنْشَاهُ نُوراً وَهُدَى
jallal ladhī anshāhu nūran wahudā
Exalted is He Who created him as light and guidance
وَالكَوْنُ مِنْ إشْرَاقِهِ عَنْهُ صَدَى
wal kawnu min ashrāqihi ʿanhu ṣadā
And the universe is but an echo of his radiance
سُبْحَانَ وَاهِبُهُ شَفَاعَتَنَا غَدَا
subḥāna wāhibuhu shafāʿatanā ghadā
Glory be to the Bestower of our intercession tomorrow
سُبْحَانَ رَافِعُ قَدْرِهِ حَتَّى غَدَا
وَالعَرْشُ مِنْ أنْوَارِهِ مَفْرُوشُ
subḥāna rāfiʿu qadrihi ḥattā ghadā
wal ʿarshu min anwārihi mafrūshu
Glory be to the Raiser of his rank until it became
that the Throne is spread with his lights
مَـجْلَى الـمَجَالِي فِي الظُّهُورِ وَمَا بَطَنْ
majlal majālī fīẓ ẓuhūri wamā baṭan
The locus of manifestations in the apparent and the hidden
عَلَمٌ تَـمَيَّزَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَبْدُو الزَّمَنْ
ʿalamun tamayyaza qabla an yabdūz zaman
A sign distinguished before time began to appear
ذِكْرَاهُ مَعْ ذِكْرِ الـمُهَيْمِنِ فِي قَرَنْ
dhikrāhu maʿ dhikril muhaymini fī qaran
His remembrance is joined with the remembrance of the All-Protector
سَلْ إِنْ ظَفِرْتَ بِعَارِفٍ يُنْبِيكَ أَنَّ
العَرْشَ بَاسْمِ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْقُوشُ
sal in ẓafirta biʿārifin yunbīka anna
alʿarsha bas mi muḥammadin manqūshu
Ask, if you find a Gnostic, who will inform you that
the Throne is inscribed with the name of Muhammad
وَسِعَ الأَنَامَ بِعِلمِهِ وَبِحِلمِهِ
wasiʿal anāma biʿilmihi wabiḥilmihi
He encompassed mankind with his knowledge and his forbearance
وَعُلُوِّ رَأْيٍ فِي مَعَالِي هَـمِّهِ
waʿuluwwi ra’yin fī maʿālī hammihi
And the loftiness of vision in his sublime aspirations
كَسَرَ العِدَاةَ بِفَتْحِهِ فِي حَزْمِهِ
kasaral ʿidāta bifatḥihi fī ḥazmihi
He broke the enemies with his conquest and resolve
سَيْفُ الإِلَـهِ الـمُنْتَضَى فَبِعَزْمِهِ
أبَدَاً تُرَدُّ كَتَائِبٌ وَجُيُوشُ
sayful ilahil muntaḍā fabiʿazmihi
ābadāan turaddu katā’ibun wajuyūshu
The unsheathed sword of God, for by his determination
battalions and armies are forever repelled
قَدْ فَاقَ كُلَّ الأَكْرَمِينَ كَمَـالُهُ
qad fāqa kullal akramīna kamāluhu
His perfection surpassed all those of noble character
وَجَلَا وَجَلَّ مَعَ الـجَلالِ جَلَالُهُ
wajalā wajalla maʿal jalāli jalāluhu
His majesty shone forth and grew sublime alongside Majesty
وَهْوَ الـمَتِينُ جَلَادُهُ وَجِدَالُهُ
wahwal matīnu jalāduhu wajidāluhu
He is the firm one in his endurance and his discourse
سَهْلٌ فَإِنْ رَامَ الغُزَاةَ فَمَـا لَهُ
سَهْمٌ عَنِ الـمُهَجِ الكِرَامِ يَطِيشُ
sahlun fa in rāmal ghuzāta famā lahu
sahmun ʿanil muhajil kirāmi yaṭīshu
Lenient, yet if he aims at invaders, then no
arrow of his misses the noble souls
جُل فِي الـجَوَا فِيهِ وَأَنْتَ مُتَيَّمٌ
jul fīl jawā fīhi wa anta mutayyamun
Roam in the depths of passion for him while you are enthralled
مُتَوَاجِدٌ فِي حُبِّهِ وَمُهَيَّمٌ
mutawājidun fī ḥubbihi wamuhayyamun
Ecstatic in his love and wandering in distraction
فَأَنَا بِذَاكَ مُمَتَّعٌ وَمُنَعَّمٌ
fa anā bidhāka mumattaʿun wamunaʿʿamun
For by that I am delighted and graced with bliss
سَكَنَتْ بِمَحْضِ هَوَاهُ مِنِّي أَعْظُمٌ
وَمَفَاصِلٌ وَغَضَارِفٌ وَمُشُوشُ
sakanat bimaḥḍi hawāhu minnī aʿẓumun
wamafāṣilun waghaḍārifun wamushūshu
By pure love for him my bones have found rest
along with joints, cartilage, and marrow-bones
بِعُلَاهُ طَابَ بَقِيعُهُ وَعُرُوضُهُ
biʿulāhu ṭāba baqīʿuhu waʿurūḍuhu
By his loftiness his Baqi' and its surroundings became pleasant
بِـهِمَـا بَدَا بَرْقُ الرِّضَا وَوَمِيضُهُ
bihimā badā barqur riḍā wawamīḍuhu
In them the lightning of divine pleasure and its flash appeared
يَرْعَى زَمَاناً كَانَ فِيهِ وَأَرْضُهُ
yarʿā zamānan kāna fīhi wa arḍuhu
He tends to the time he was in and its land
سَقْياً لِرَيْعٍ حَلَّ فِيهِ فَرَوْضُهُ
خَضِلٌ بِمَـاءِ مَدَامِعِي مَرْشُوشُ
saqīan lirayʿin ḥalla fīhi farawḍuhu
khaḍilun bimā’i madāmiʿī marshūshu
May a land he dwelt in be watered, for its garden
is lush and sprinkled with the water of my tears
أَعْظِمْ بِهِ مِنْ حَامِدٍ وَمُحَمَّدٍ
aʿẓim bihi min ḥāmidin wamuḥammadin
How great he is as one who praises and is praised
أَكْرِمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَاجِدٍ وَمُـمَجَّدٍ
akrim bihi min mājidin wamumajjadin
How noble he is as one glorious and glorified
أَسْعِدْ بِهِ مِنْ مُسْعِدٍ عَنْ مُسْعِدٍ
asʿid bihi min musʿidin ʿan musʿidin
How fortunate he is as a bringer of joy from the Source of Joy
سَدَّ الثُّغُورَ وَسَادَ كُلَّ مُسَوَّدٍ
فَلِوَجْهِهِ في الـمَكْرُمَاتِ سُرُوشُ
saddath thughūra wasāda kulla musawwadin
faliwajhihi fīl makrumāti surūshu
He guarded the frontiers and led every chieftain
for his face has lamps in honorable deeds
شَمْسُ الوُجُودِ وَبَدْرُهُ نُورُ السَّنَا
shamsul wujūdi wabadruhu nūrus sanā
The sun of existence and its full moon, the light of brilliance
وَجَـمِيعُ هَذَا الكَوْنِ عَنْهُ تَعَيَّنَا
wajamīʿu hadhal kawni ʿanhu taʿayyanā
And all of this universe was manifested from him
آمَنْتُ إذْعَاناً لِـمَـا قَدْ بَيَّنَا
āmantu adhʿānan limā qad bayyanā
I believed with submission to what he made clear
سَلَّمْتُ لَـمَّـا قالَ حَقّاً إنَّنَا
بَعْدَ الـمَسِيرِ عَلَى النُّعُوشِ نَعِيشُ
sallamtu lammā qāla ḥaqqan annanā
baʿdal masīri ʿalan nuʿūshi naʿīshu
I surrendered when he truly said that we
shall live after the journey upon the biers
نَحْنُ الفُرُوعُ لَهُ وَذَلِكَ أَصْلُنَا
naḥnul furūʿu lahu wadhalika aṣlunā
We are the branches to him, and he is our root
وَبِعِلمِهِ قَدْ زَالَ عَنَّا جَهْلُنَا
wabiʿilmihi qad zāla ʿannā jahlunā
And through his knowledge our ignorance has passed away
نَسْعَى لَهُ في البَعْثِ وَهْوَ دَلِيلُنَا
nasʿā lahu fīl baʿthi wahwa dalīlunā
We strive toward him in the Resurrection and he is our guide
سَعْياً نَؤُوبُ إِلَى الـحِسَابِ وَكُلُّنَا
مِنْ بَطْنِ كُلِّ تَنُوفَةٍ مَنْبُوشُ
saʿīan naūbu ilal ḥisābi wakullunā
min baṭni kulli tanūfatin manbūshu
Striving we return to the Reckoning while all of us
are unearthed from the belly of every vast desert
نَلقَاهُ إِذْ نَأْتِيهِ خَيْرَ مُبَشِّرٍ
nalqāhu idh na’tīhi khayra mubashshirin
We meet him when we come to him as the best bringer of glad tidings
وَنَرَاهُ عِنْدَ العُسْرِ خَيْرَ مُيَسِّرٍ
wanarāhu ʿindal ʿusri khayra muyassirin
And we see him at the time of hardship as the best of easers
بَرّاً وَبَحْراً سَاقِياً مِنْ كَوْثَرٍ
barran wabaḥran sāqīan min kawtharin
In land and sea, a cupbearer from Kawthar
سَنَؤُمُّ حَوْضَ الـمُصْطَفَى فِي مَـحْشَرٍ
حِيشَتْ إِلَيْهِ لِلقِصَاصِ وُحُوشُ
sanaummu ḥawḍal muṣṭafā fī maḥsharin
ḥīshat ilayhi lilqiṣāṣi wuḥūshu
We shall head to the Basin of the Chosen One on a Day of Gathering
when wild beasts are driven to it for retribution
