يَـا سَـيِّـدَ الرُّسْـلِ غَـارَة
O Master of the Messengers, Grant Protection

الله الله يَا الله الله الله يَا الله
يَـا رَبِّ صَـلِّ عَـلَـى الـمُخْتَارِ خَيْرِ العَبِيدْ
Allah Allah ya Allah Allah Allah ya Allah
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalal mukhtāri khayril ʿabīd
Allah, Allah, O Allah! Allah, Allah, O Allah!
O Lord, bestow blessings upon the Chosen One, the best of servants.
يَـا سَـيِّـدَ الرُّسْـلِ غَـارَةْ لِأَقَـلِّ الـعَـبِـيـدْ
بِـوَصْلِ مَـحْبُوبِ قَـلْبِي يَـنْطَفِي ذَا الوَقِيدْ
yā sayyidar rusli ghārah liaqallil ʿabīd
biwaṣli maḥbūbi qalbī yanṭafī dhal waqīd
O Master of Messengers, grant succor to the lowliest of servants
By union with my heart’s Beloved, this burning fire is quenched.
قَـدْ يَـجْـمَـعُ اللهُ مِـنْ بَعْدِ الأَيَـاسِ البَعيدْ
وَكَيْفَ آيِسْ وَهُـوْ قَـادِرْ عَـلَـى مَـا يُرِيـدْ
qad yajmaʿu Allahu min baʿdil ayāsil baʿīd
wakayfa āyis wahuw qādir ʿalā mā yurīd
Allah may bring union after long and distant despair
And how can I despair when He is All-Powerful over all He desires?
نَـذَرْتُ شَافْعَلْ إذَا شَاهَدْتُ عَيدِيدَ عِيدْ
يَــا وَادِيَ الغِيدِ ذِي مَــا مِثْلُهُمْ قَــطُّ غِيدْ
nadhartu shāfʿal adhā shāhadtu ʿaīdīda ʿīd
yā wādiyal ghīdi dhī mā mithluhum qaṭṭu ghīd
I have vowed what I shall do if I behold the feast of Aidid
O valley of the graceful ones, whose like there never was.
قُـولُـوا لَـهُـمْ: مَـا تَـرِقُّوا لِلغَرِيبِ الوَحِيدْ
مَـهْـلاً مِـنَ البُعْدِ مَهْلاً مَـا عَـلَـى ذَا مَزِيدْ
qūlū lahum mā tariqqū lilgharībil waḥīd
mahlan minal buʿdi mahlan mā ʿalā dhā mazīd
Say to them: Will you not show mercy to the lonely stranger?
Enough of this distance, enough; for there is no endurance for more.
وَلَا بَـلـي قَــطّْ شَوْقِي غَـيـرَ دَائِـمْ جَدِيدْ
لِعَيْدَرُوسِ الـمَـعَـالِـي ثُــمَّ سَعْدِ السَّعِيدْ
walā balī qaṭṭ shawqī ghaīra dā’im jadīd
liʿaydarūsil maʿālī thumma saʿdis saʿīd
My longing never fades; it is ever-constant and renewed
For Aydarus of the lofty heights, and for the most felicitous Sa'd.
كَـمْ دَمَّـرُوا لِـي أَعَـادِي رُبَّ ظَـالِـمْ عَنِيدْ
وَأَنَا بِهِم إِنْ قَصَرْ جَهْدِي فِي النَّاسِ جِيدْ
kam dammarū lī aʿādī rubba ẓālim ʿanīd
wa anā bihim in qaṣar jahdī fīn nāsi jīd
How many enemies have they vanquished for me, many a stubborn tyrant
And through them, though my own strength fails, I am held noble among the folk.
وَكُـلُّ عَـامٍ يَـقُـولُــوا هَــانْ وَأَنــا أَزِيــدْ
بِـعَـونِ رَبِّـي وَأَخْـتِـمْ بِـالـوَلِـيِّ الـحَمِيدْ
wakullu ʿāmin yaqūlū hān wa anā azīd
biʿawni rabbī wa akhtim bil waliyyil ḥamīd
Each year they say he has waned, yet I only increase
By the help of my Lord, and I seal my prayer with the Praiseworthy Saint.
صَـلُّـوا عَـلَـى أَحْـمَـدْ وَمَـنْ صَلَّـى عَـلَـى أَحْـمَـدْ يُـفِـيـدْ
ṣallū ʿalā aḥmad waman ṣallā ʿalā aḥmad yufīd
Invoke blessings upon Ahmad, for he who invokes blessings upon Ahmad shall profit
