mā lilnniyāqi idhā ḥadā jammāluhā
tadaʿul ʿanā’a walā tamallu malālahā
What is with the she-camels when their driver chants to them?
They cast aside their weariness and do not grow tired of the road
watarāā lahā fīs sayri jiddan wāḍiḥan
shawqan tamuddu yamīnahā washimālahā
You see in their stride a clear determination,
out of longing they stretch to the right and to the left
watabāsharat lammā atat badran ra’at
nūran nabiyyil hāshimiyyi badā lahā
They rejoiced when they arrived and beheld Badr,
for the light of the Hashimite Prophet appeared before them
So sing to them, O Saʿd, with the name of Muhammad,
perhaps they will listen to the one who sings for them
