O Green Dome, How Captivating You Are

يَا قُبَّةَ الْخَضْرَا مَالِكْ
فَتَنْتِينَا بِجَمَالِكْ
yā qubbatal khaḍrā mālik
fatantīnā bijamālik
O Green Dome, what is it about you,
that has enchanted us with your beauty?
قَالَتْ جَمَالِي بِمُحَمَّدْ
نَوَّرْ جَمِيعَ الْمَمَالِكْ
qālat jamālī bimuḥammad
nawwar jamīʿal mamālik
It said, “My beauty is through Muhammad,
who has illuminated all the realms.”
حَوَيْتِ خَيْرَ الْبَرِيَّةْ
سَامِي الْعُلَا وَالْمَزَايَا
ḥawayti khayral bariyyah
sāmīl ʿulā wal mazāyā
You have embraced within you the Best of Creation,
the one of exalted loftiness and noble qualities
لَهُ تَسِيرُ الْمَطَايَا
مِنْ كُلِّ تِلْكَ الْمَمَالِكْ
lahu tasīrul maṭāyā
min kulli tilkal mamālik
To him the riding mounts make their way,
from all those lands
يَا قُبَّةَ الْخَضْرَا مَالِكْ
فَتَنْتِينَا بِجَمَالِكْ
yā qubbatal khaḍrā mālik
fatantīnā bijamālik
O Green Dome, what is it about you,
that has enchanted us with your beauty?
قَالَتْ جَمَالِي بِمُحَمَّدْ
نَوَّرْ جَمِيعَ الْمَمَالِكْ
qālat jamālī bimuḥammad
nawwar jamīʿal mamālik
It said, “My beauty is through Muhammad,
who has illuminated all the realms.”
لَاحَتْ عَلَيْنَا أَنْوَارُهْ
فَاضَتْ عَلَيْنَا أَسْرَارُهْ
lāḥat ʿalaynā anwāruh
fāḍat ʿalaynā asrāruh
His lights have gleamed upon us,
and his secrets have poured over us
بُشْرَى لَكُمْ يَا زُوَّارُهْ
بَعْدَ أَدَاءِ الْمَنَاسِكْ
bushrā lakum yā zuwwāruh
baʿda adā’il manāsik
Glad tidings to you, O his visitors,
after fulfilling the sacred rites
يَا قُبَّةَ الْخَضْرَا مَالِكْ
فَتَنْتِينَا بِجَمَالِكْ
yā qubbatal khaḍrā mālik
fatantīnā bijamālik
O Green Dome, what is it about you,
that has enchanted us with your beauty?
قَالَتْ جَمَالِي بِمُحَمَّدْ
نَوَّرْ جَمِيعَ الْمَمَالِكْ
qālat jamālī bimuḥammad
nawwar jamīʿal mamālik
It said, “My beauty is through Muhammad,
who has illuminated all the realms.”
يَا سَعْدَ مَنْ شَمَّ تُرَابَهْ
شَوْقاً وَقَبَّلْ أَعْتَابَهْ
yā saʿda man shamma turābah
shawqan waqabbal aʿtābah
How blessed is he who breathes the scent of his dust,
out of longing, and kisses his doorstep
تَزُولُ عَنْهُ أَتْعَابُهْ
يَأْمَنْ جَمِيعَ الْمَهَالِكْ
tazūlu ʿanhu atʿābuh
ya’man jamīʿal mahālik
His hardships fall away from him,
and he is kept safe from every danger
يَا قُبَّةَ الْخَضْرَا مَالِكْ
فَتَنْتِينَا بِجَمَالِكْ
yā qubbatal khaḍrā mālik
fatantīnā bijamālik
O Green Dome, what is it about you,
that has enchanted us with your beauty?
قَالَتْ جَمَالِي بِمُحَمَّدْ
نَوَّرْ جَمِيعَ الْمَمَالِكْ
qālat jamālī bimuḥammad
nawwar jamīʿal mamālik
It said, “My beauty is through Muhammad,
who has illuminated all the realms.”
صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ يَا حُضَّارْ
وَالْآلِ وَالْصَّحْبِ الْأَخْيَارْ
ṣallū ʿalayhi yā ḥuḍḍār
wal āli wal ṣṣaḥbil akhyār
Send blessings upon him, O you who are present,
and upon his family and noble companions.
تَنْجُو غداً مِنْ عَذَابِ الْنَّارْ
وَتَرْبَحُوا عَفْوَ الْمَالِكْ
tanjū ghdan min ʿadhābil nnār
watarbaḥū ʿafwal mālik
You shall be saved tomorrow from the fire's torment,
and win the pardon of the Sovereign Lord
