الــصُّــبْــحُ بَــدَا مِــنْ طَــلْــعَــتِــهِ
وَ الــلَّــيْــلُ دَجَــى مِــنْ وَفْــرَتِــهِ
alṣṣubḥu badā min ṭalʿatihi
wal llaylu daja min wa fratihi
The light of dawn is from the radiance of your face
The sparkle of the night is from the glimmer of your blessed strands of hair
كَــنْــزُ الــكَــرَمِ مَــوْلَا الــنِّــعَــمِ
هَــادِي الأُمَــمِ لِــشَــرِيــعَــتِــهِ
kanzul karami mawlāl nniʿami
haādīl umami lisharīʿatihi
Our master is a treasure of grace. He is a treasure of mercy
He is the guide of the entire nation, showing us the way of the sacred law
سَــاعَــةِ الــشَّــجَــرُ نَــطَــقَ الــحَــجَــرُ
شَــقَّ الــقَــمَــرُ بِــإِشَــارَتِــهِ
saāʿatil shshajaru naṭaqal ḥajaru
shaqqal qamaru biishaāratihi
On the command of your blessed finger, the trees began to walk, the stones began to speak through your greatness.
The moon was split into two upon gesture of your blessed finger
جِــبْــرِيــلُ أَتَــى لَــيْــلَــةَ أَسْــرَى
وَ الــرَّبُّ دَعَــاهُ لِــحَــضْــرَتِــهِ
jibrīlu ata laylata asrā
wal rrabbu daʿaāhu liḥaḍratihi
Angel Gabriel came with glad tidings from Allah on the Night of Ascension
Allah invited you to the heavens and bestowed upon you the honor of intimacy
فَــمُــحَــمَّــدُنَــا هُــوَ سَــيِّــدِنَــا
فَــالْــعِــزُّ لَــنَــا لِإِجَــابَــتِــهِ
famuḥammadunaā huwa sayyidinaā
faālʿizzu lanaā liijaābatihi
Muhammad is our benefactor and our leader
Our dignity is in responding to his call
