دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
Heal Me, O Light of the Living
En
دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
دَاوِينِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَي
dāwīnī yā nūral ḥaī
dāwīnī wan ẓur ilaī
Heal me, O Light of the Living,
Heal me, and look upon me
دَاوِينِي دَاوِي
يَا نُورَ الْحَي
dāwīnī dāwī
yā nūral ḥaī
Heal me, heal me,
O Light of the Living
يَا مُحَمَّدْ أَنْتَ الْمَحْبُوبْ
وَلِأَجْلِكْ نِلْنَا الْمَطْلُوبْ
yā muḥammad antal maḥbūb
waliajlik nilnal maṭlūb
O Muhammad, you are the Beloved,
Because of you, we attained what we sought
بِمَدْحِكْ تَشْتَاقُ الْقُلُوبْ
تُنْجِينَا بِيَوْمِ الْدِّينْ
bimadḥik tashtāqul qulūb
tunjīnā biyawmil ddīn
Through praising you, hearts are filled with longing,
You save us on the Day of Judgment
دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
دَاوِينِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَي
dāwīnī yā nūral ḥaī
dāwīnī wan ẓur ilaī
Heal me, O Light of the Living,
Heal me, and look upon me
دَاوِينِي دَاوِي
يَا نُورَ الْحَي
dāwīnī dāwī
yā nūral ḥaī
Heal me, heal me,
O Light of the Living
اَلْمَادِحْ بِمَدْحُ يَقُولْ
هَوَاهُ مَدْحُ الْرَّسُولْ
almādiḥ bimadḥu yaqūl
hawāhu madḥul rrasūl
The one who praises says in his praise:
His passion is the praise of the Messenger
لِأَجْلِهْ نِلْنَا الْقَبُولْ
شَفَاعَةْ بِيَوْمِ الْدِّينْ
liajlih nilnal qabūl
shafāʿah biyawmil ddīn
Because of Him, we attained acceptance,
Intercession on the Day of Judgment
دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
دَاوِينِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَي
dāwīnī yā nūral ḥaī
dāwīnī wan ẓur ilaī
Heal me, O Light of the Living,
Heal me, and look upon me
دَاوِينِي دَاوِي
يَا نُورَ الْحَي
dāwīnī dāwī
yā nūral ḥaī
Heal me, heal me,
O Light of the Living
يَا مُحَمَّدْ أَنَا الْمَدَّاحْ
وَبِمَدْحِكْ قَلْبِي يَرْتَاحْ
yā muḥammad anal maddāḥ
wabimadḥik qalbī yartāḥ
O Muhammad, I am the one who praises you,
And in praising you, my heart finds rest
أُهْدِيكَ مَسَا وَصَبَاحْ
صَلَاةً لِيَوْمِ الْدِّينْ
uhdīka masā waṣabāḥ
ṣalātan liyawmil ddīn
I gift you, evening and morning,
Blessings until the Day of Judgment
دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
دَاوِينِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَي
dāwīnī yā nūral ḥaī
dāwīnī wan ẓur ilaī
Heal me, O Light of the Living,
Heal me, and look upon me
دَاوِينِي دَاوِي
يَا نُورَ الْحَي
dāwīnī dāwī
yā nūral ḥaī
Heal me, heal me,
O Light of the Living
يَا خَلَايِقْ صَلُّوا عَلَيْهْ
مَوْلَاكُمْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهْ
yā khalāyiq ṣallū ʿalayh
mawlākum ṣallā ʿalayh
O creation, send blessings upon him,
Your Lord has sent blessings upon him
وَالْجِذْعُ حَنَّ إِلَيْهْ
مِنْ شُوْقُهْ أَنَّ أَنِينْ
wal jidhʿu ḥanna ilayh
min shuwquh anna anīn
And the palm tree trunk yearned for him,
And from its longing, it cried aloud
دَاوِينِي يَا نُورَ الْحَي
دَاوِينِي وَانْظُرْ إِلَي
dāwīnī yā nūral ḥaī
dāwīnī wan ẓur ilaī
Heal me, O Light of the Living,
Heal me, and look upon me
دَاوِينِي دَاوِي
يَا نُورَ الْحَي
dāwīnī dāwī
yā nūral ḥaī
Heal me, heal me,
O Light of the Living
صَلَاةٌ عَلَى الْمُخْتَارْ
وَالْآلِ ثُمَّ الْأَنْصَارْ
ṣalātun ʿalal mukhtār
wal āli thummal anṣār
Blessings upon the Chosen One,
And upon the Family, then the Ansar
وَالصَّحْبِ رَفِيقِ الْغَارْ
أُهْدِيهَا مَعَ النَّسْرِينْ
waṣ ṣaḥbi rafīqil ghār
uhdīhā maʿan nasrīn
And the Companions, and the Companion in the Cave,
I offer it infused with fragrance
