Within Allah’s protection is he who comes to Hussain

Fountain of generosity, source of noble bounty

The lands send their congratulations unto Egypt,
“To the people of Egypt has come one who represents me.”

O you of noble forefathers and noble parents

ummukaz zahrā lilmukammali qurrah
lā shabīhun lahā minal kanzi durrah
Your mother is al-Zahra, the joy of the Perfected One,
A pearl from the treasure, without any equal
qāla khayrul warā ḥusaynun minnī
fī ḥadīthin rawāhu anā min ḥusayna
The Best of Creation declared, “Hussain is from me.”
In the narration, “And I am from Hussain.”

And through Ali you inherit the nobility by which men are led

You are a pure branch from the finest of houses,
Born of light, sprung from the sanctified line

fī qulūbil khiyāri rabbī katabakum qāla
fīdh dhikri qurbatan qurbakum
Within the hearts of the righteous my Lord has written your love,
And in the Revelation, nearness to you is a means of drawing near
kullu ḥasabin maqṭūʿun ghayra ḥasabikum
qabḍatul ḥaqqi afḍalun nasabaynā
Every lineage shall be severed save your lineage,
The grasp of Truth, the best of lineages
man yazūrul imāma atathu ʿināyā
in aṣil sāḥahu yatimmu hanāyā
Whoever visits the Imam is met with loving care,
If I reach his courtyard, my joy is made complete

We have come to you, our mounts bent from the journey,
O son of the Best of Mankind, cast a glance upon us
khāṭaba Allahu lilḥusayni shafāhā
yā shahīdal maḥabbati yā sibṭa ṭaha
Allah addressed Hussain and honored his station,
O martyr of love, O grandson of Taha!
āyatuṭ ṭuhri anta majlā ṣafāhā
anta rayḥānatāhu was sibṭaynā
You are a sign of purity, a mirror of its radiance,
You are his sweet basil, the two blessed grandsons

manhalal jūdi maṣdaran lilʿaṭāyā
We have come to a courtyard where sins are cast away,
A wellspring of generosity, a fountain of gifts
man siwākum yurjā likashfil balāyā

Who besides you is hoped in for the removal of affliction,
The mercy of Allah has guided us unto you
ḍarranīl karbu ji’tu sāḥal kirāmā
shākiyan bākiyan minal āamā
Distress has struck me, so I came to the court of the noble,
Complaining and weeping from the pain I have endured
bi akhīkal ʿaẓīm ḥasanul imāmā
dawḥatin nūri ṭāhiril ʿunṣuraynā
By your great brother, Hassan the Imam,
The tree of light, pure of both lineages
dāwi jisman minaḍ ḍanā kam ʿānā
wakadhaḍ ḍurru wal asā massānā
Heal a body worn down by illness and long suffering,
Affliction and sorrow have likewise touched us
fahiya kawkab badā maʿal kawkabāni
ummu hāshim karīmatud dāraynā
And She is a star that appeared with the two stars,
Umm Hashim, the noble lady of both abodes
ḥubbukum fīl ʿurūqi wal qalbu yasrī
ji’tukum baddilū liʿusrī biyusrī
Your love flows through my veins and through my heart,
I have come to you, turn my hardship into ease
bi abīkal imāmuj burī lī kasrī
fukka asrī wasudda ʿannīd daynā
By your father, the Imam, mend what has been broken in me,
Release me from my bonds and settle my debt
ṭayyibūnī likay aʿūda bilādī
wabarri’ūnī likay arā awlādī
Grant me well-being, that I may return to my homeland,
Restore me, that I may once more behold my children
fa idhā sirtu yā sākinīna fuādī
timmū lilnniʿmati waḥ faẓūhā ʿalaynā
And when I depart, O you who dwell within my heart,
Complete this blessing and preserve it for us
