شَهْرُ الرَّبِيع وَافَانَا
The Month of Rabiʿ Is Upon Us

شَهْرُ الرَّبِيع وَافَانَا
أَقْبَلْ عَلَيْنَا وَهَنَّانَا
shahrur rabīʿ wāfānā
aqbal ʿalaynā wahannānā
The month of Rabi' is upon us
it has drawn near and gladdened us
بِهِ أَتَانَا رَسُولُ الله
لِلدِّينِ حَقًّا هَدَانَا
bihi atānā rasūlu Allah
lilddīni ḥaqqan hadānā
With it came the Messenger of Allah
To the religion, He truly guided us
شَهْرٌ بِهِ جَاءَ الرَّسُولْ
الْهَاشِمِي بَابُ الْوُصُولْ
shahrun bihi jā’ar rasūl
alhāshimī bābul wuṣūl
A month in which the Messenger came,
The Hashemite, the gateway to nearness
بِقُدُومِهِ نِلْنَا الْقَبُولْ
سُبْحَانَ مَنْ قَدْ أَعْطَانَا
biqudūmihi nilnal qabūl
subḥāna man qad aʿṭānā
By his coming, we gained acceptance,
Glory be to the One Who bestowed this upon us
شَهْرٌ بِهِ نِلْنَا الْهُدَىٰ
وَبِهِ انْجَلَى عَنَّا الرَّدَى
shahrun bihi nilnal hudāā
wabihin jalā ʿannar radā
A month in which we attained guidance
And through which destruction was lifted from us
بِجَمَالِهِ لَمَّا بَدَى
مِنْ كُلِّ خَطْبٍ نَجَّانَا
bijamālihi lammā badā
min kulli khaṭbin najjānā
In all his resplendent beauty, when he appeared
from every trouble, he rescued us
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ يَا سَلَامْ
عَلَى النَّبِي مَاحِي الظَّلَامْ
yā rabbi ṣalli yā salām
ʿalan nabī māḥīẓ ẓalām
O My Lord, O [Source of] Peace, send benedictions
Upon the Prophet, the effacer of all darkness,
وَالْآلِ وَالصَّحْبِ الْكِرَامْ
مَا فِيْهِ شَادٍ غَنَّانَا
wal āli waṣ ṣaḥbil kirām
mā fiyhi shādin ghannānā
And upon his noble family and companions,
For as long as one celebrates and sings his praises therein
