قِفْ وَاسْتَمِعْنِي يَا نَدِيمْ
Halt and Hear Me, O Dear Companion
En
قِفْ وَاسْتَمِعْنِي يَا نَدِيمْ
قَوْلًا بِمَعْنَاهُ أَهِيمْ
qif was tamiʿnī yā nadīm
qawlan bimaʿnāhu ahīm
Halt and hear me, O dear companion,
To words whose meaning fills me with rapture
حَمَلَتْ بِأَحْمَدَ أُمُّهُ
وَالْسَّعْدُ كَانَ لَهَا خَدِيمْ
ḥamalat bi aḥmada ummuhu
wal ssaʿdu kāna lahā khadīm
Ahmad’s mother carried Him in Her womb,
And good fortune was ever at Her service
حَمَلَتْ بِأَزْكَى الْأَنْبِيَاءْ
نَسَبًا وَهَنَّاهَا الْكَرِيمْ
ḥamalat bi azkal anbiyā’
nasaban wahannāhal karīm
She bore the purest of all Prophets,
The noblest in lineage, and the Most Generous blessed Her
نَالَتْ بِهِ كُلَّ الْمُنَى
وَالْمَجْدِ وَالْعِزِّ الْمُقِيمْ
nālat bihi kullal munā
wal majdi wal ʿizzil muqīm
Through him, she attained all her heart's desires,
And everlasting glory and honor
يَا فَوْزَهَا بِالْمُصْطَفَى
حَازَتْ بِهِ الْشَّرَفَ الْعَظِيمْ
yā fawzahā bil muṣṭafā
ḥāzat bihil shsharafal ʿaẓīm
How blessed she was to bear the Chosen One!
Through him, she attained the greatest honor
بُشْرَاكِ آمِنَةَ الْرِّضَى
بِمُحَمَّدٍ عَيْنِ الْنَّعِيمْ
bushrāki āminatal rriḍā
bimuḥammadin ʿaynil nnaʿīm
Glad tidings to You, O Aminah, of divine pleasure,
With Muhammad, the Fountainhead of Bliss
