بَادِرْ لَقَدْ فَاتَتْكَ الْغَنَائِمْ
Hasten! The Spoils Have Passed You By

بَادِرْ لَقَدْ فَاتَتْكَ الْغَنَائِمْ
تَقَاسَمُوهَا وَأَنْتَ نَائِمْ
bādir laqad fātatkal ghanā’im
taqāsamūhā wa anta nā’im
Hasten! indeed the spoils have passed you by,
They divided them while you were fast asleep
وَلَوْ رَأَيْتَ الَّذِينَ فَازُوا
نُحْتَ كَمَا نَاحَتِ الْحَمَائِمْ
walaw ra’aytal ladhīna fāzū
nuḥta kamā nāḥatil ḥamā’im
Had you seen those who attained the prize,
You would have mourned just as the doves mourn
إِنْ رُمْتَ أَلَّا تَكُونَ نَادِمْ
قُمْ لِحَبِيبِ الْقُلُوبِ لَازِمْ
in rumta allā takūna nādim
qum liḥabībil qulūbi lāzim
If you wish never to taste regret,
Arise and cling to the Beloved of the hearts
وَلَازِمِ الْبَابَ يَا مُعْنَّى
إِنَّ الْسَّعِيدَ الَّذِي يُلَازِمْ
walāzimil bāba yā muʿnnā
innal ssaʿīdal ladhī yulāzim
Hold fast to the Door, O weary soul,
For the truly fortunate is the one who persists
مَنْ لَازِمَ الْبَابَ نَالَ قُرْبا
وَفَازَ بِالْأَجْرِ وَالْغَنَائِمْ
man lāzimal bāba nāla qurbā
wafāza bil ajri wal ghanā’im
Whoever stays at the Door attains nearness,
And wins the ultimate reward and the spoils
وَلَا تَنَمْ سَاعَةَ الْتَّجَلِّي
فَلَيْسَ يَحْظَى بِالْأَجْرِ نَائِمْ
walā tanam sāʿatal ttajallī
falaysa yaḥẓā bil ajri nā’im
Do not sleep through the hour of Divine Manifestation,
For the sleeper can never attain the reward
قَدْ جَرَحَتْ قَلْبِيَ الْخَطَايَا
وَلَسْتُ أَلْقَى لَهَا مَرَاهِمْ
qad jaraḥat qalbiyal khaṭāyā
walastu alqā lahā marāhim
Sins have deeply wounded my heart,
And I can find no healing for it
سِوَى الْرِّضَا مِنْكَ يَا إِلَهِي
يَا وَاسِعَ الْجُودِ وَالْمَكَارِمْ
siwal rriḍā minka yā ilahī
yā wāsiʿal jūdi wal makārim
Except Your pleasure, O my Lord,
O You of vast generosity and boundless grace
وَقَدْ تَوَسَّلْنَا يَا إِلَهِي
بِسَيِّدِ الْعَرَبِ وَالْأَعَاجِمْ
waqad tawassalnā yā ilahī
bisayyidil ʿarabi wal aʿājim
And we have sought nearness to You, O my Lord,
Through the Master of the Arabs and non-Arabs
نَبِيِّنَا الْمُصْطَفَى الْتِّهَامِي
مَنْ جَاءَ لِلْأَنْبِيَاءِ خَاتَمْ
nabiyyinal muṣṭafal ttihāmī
man jā’a lilanbiyā’i khātam
Our Prophet, the Chosen One, the Tihami,
The one who came as the Seal of the Prophets
