مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
Welcome, O Month of Fasting
الحَبِيب عُمَرْ بِن حَفِيظHabib Umar Bin Hafiz
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
شَهْرُ قُرْبٍ وَمَحَبَّةْ
وَاعْتِلَا رُتْبَة فَرُتْبَةْ
shahru qurbin wamaḥabbah
waʿ tilā rutbah farutbah
A month of closeness and love,
And rising from rank to rank,
وَلُحُوقٍ بِالْأَحِبَّةْ
وَالرُّقِيِّ لِأَعْلَى مَقَامِ
waluḥūqin bil aḥibbah
war ruqiyyi liaʿlā maqāmi
And reunion with the Beloved,
And ascending to the highest station
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
شَهْرُ غُفْرَانٍ وَرَحْمَةْ
وَخَصَائِصِ خِيْرَ أُمَّةْ
shahru ghufrānin waraḥmah
wakhaṣā’iṣi khiyra ummah
A month of forgiveness and mercy,
And the special virtues of the best community,
رَبِّ فَاكْشِفْ كُلَّ غُمَّةْ
بِالنَّبِيِّ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
rabbi fak shif kulla ghummah
bin nabiyyi khayril anāmi
My Lord, lift every affliction,
By the Prophet, the best of mankind.
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
يَا مُجِيباً لِلدُّعَاءِ
دَافِعاً كُلَّ الْبَلَاءِ
yā mujīban lildduʿā’i
dāfiʿan kullal balā’i
O Answerer of supplications,
Repeller of every calamity,
رَبِّ حَقِّقْ لِلرَّجَاءِ
غَيْثَ جُودِكَ رَبِّ هَامِي
rabbi ḥaqqiq lilrrajā’i
ghaytha jūdika rabbi hāmī
My Lord, fulfill our hopes,
With the rain of Your generosity, O my Lord, pouring down
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
بَلِّغِ الْكُلَّ مُرَادَهْ
هَبْ لَنَا أَعْلَى السَّعَادَةْ
ballighil kulla murādah
hab lanā aʿlas saʿādah
Grant everyone their heart's desire,
Bestow upon us the highest happiness,
فِي غُيُوبٍ وَشَهَادَةْ
فِي الدُّنَا وَفِي الْقِيَامِ
fī ghuyūbin washahādah
fīd dunā wafīl qiyāmi
In the unseen and the seen,
In this world and in the Hereafter
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
أِكْشِفِ الْكَرْبَ سَرِيعَا
وَأَصْلِحِ الشَّأْنَ جَمِيعَا
ikshifil karba sarīʿā
wa aṣliḥish sha’na jamīʿā
Relieve our distress swiftly
And rectify all our affairs
هَبْ لَنَا حِصْناً مَنِيعَا
مِنْ شُرُورٍ وَلِئَامِ
hab lanā ḥiṣnan manīʿā
min shurūrin wali’āmi
Grant us a mighty fortress,
Against evils and the wicked
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
رَبَّنَا أَنْعِمْ وَأَكْرِمْ
وَلِإِنْعَامِكَ أَتْمِمْ
rabbanā anʿim wa akrim
waliinʿāmika atmim
Our Lord, bestow favors and honor us,
And make Your favors complete upon us
وَبِحُسْنِ الْعُمْرَ فَاخْتِمْ
جُدْ لَنَا بِأَحْسَنْ خِتَامِ
wabiḥusnil ʿumra fakh tim
jud lanā bi aḥsan khitāmi
And seal our lives with goodness,
Grant us the best ending
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
رَبِّ وَاجْمَعْنَا بِأَحْمَدْ
بِلِقَاءِ الطُّهْرِ نَسْعَدْ
rabbi waj maʿnā bi aḥmad
biliqā’iṭ ṭuhri nasʿad
My Lord, gather us with Ahmad,
By meeting the pure one, we rejoice,
هَا هُنَا رَبِّي وَفِي غَدْ
وَعُلَا دَارِ السَّلَامِ
hā hunā rabbī wafī ghad
waʿulā dāris salāmi
Here, my Lord, and in the hereafter
And in the heights of the Abode of Peace
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
وَفِّقِ الْكُلَّ أَعِنَّا
وَتَقَبَّلْ رَبِّ مِنَّا
waffiqil kulla aʿinnā
wataqabbal rabbi minnā
Grant success to all and aid us,
And accept from us, my Lord,
كُنْ لَنَا حِسّاً وَمَعْنَى
بِالنَّبِيِّ مَاحِي الظَّلَامِ
kun lanā ḥissan wamaʿnā
bin nabiyyi māḥīẓ ẓalāmi
Assist us both inwardly and outwardly,
By the Prophet, the eraser of darkness.
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
وَأَغِثْ أُمَّتَهْ عَاجِلْ
وَاكْفِهِمْ شَرَّ النَّوَازِلْ
wa aghith ummatah ʿājil
wak fihim sharran nawāzil
Grant relief to his nation swiftly,
And protect them from the evil of calamaties,
رَبِّ بَلِّغْنَا الْمَآملْ
وَاكْفِنَا شَرَّ الطَّغَامِ
rabbi ballighnal maāml
wak finā sharraṭ ṭaghāmi
My Lord, let us attain our hopes,
And spare us from the evil of the ignoble
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
بِالنَّبِيِّ خَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةْ
وَلَهُ أَزْكَى التَّحِيَّةْ
bin nabiyyi khayril bariyyah
walahu azkat taḥiyyah
By the Prophet, the best of all creation,
To him belongs the purest greeting,
وَصَلَاةٌ سَرْمَدِيَّةْ
مِنْكَ عَنَّا بِالدَّوَامِ
waṣalātun sarmadiyyah
minka ʿannā bid dawāmi
And everlasting prayers,
From You upon us, forevermore
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ الْقِيَامِ
marḥaban shahraṣ ṣiyāmi
marḥaban shahral qiyāmi
Welcome, O month of fasting,
Welcome, O month of standing (in prayer),
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّلَامِ
وَالْعَطِيَّاتِ الْعِظَامِ
marḥaban shahras salāmi
wal ʿaṭiyyātil ʿiẓāmi
Welcome, O month of peace,
And of tremendous, divine gifts
وَعَلَى الْآلِ الْأَطَاهِرْ
وَالصَّحَابَةِ وَالْمُؤَازِرْ
waʿalal ālil aṭāhir
waṣ ṣaḥābati wal muāzir
And upon the pure family,
And the Companions and their supporters,
وَالنَّبِيِّينَ الْأَكَابِرْ
وَالْمَلَائِكَ الْكِرَامِ
wan nabiyyīnal akābir
wal malā’ikal kirāmi
And the great Prophets,
And the noble angels
