لَا بُـدَّ مِـن فَـنَـاء الْـمُـلْـكُ يَـبْـقَـى لِـلَّـه
Allah Allah Allah Allah yā mawlāna
lā budda min fanā’al mulku yabqā lillāh
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, O our Master!
Annihilation is inevitable; all sovereignty belongs to Allah
مَـلَـكَـنِـي هَـوَاكُـمْ عَـذَّبَـنِـي
وَزَادَنِـي شَـوْقًا وَ قَـلَـقَا
malakanī hawākum ʿadhdhabanī
wazādanī shawqan wa qalaqā
Your love has possessed me and tormented me,
Increasing my longing and my restless heart
الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ يَـا مَـوْلَانَـا
لَا بُـدَّ مِـن فَـنَـاء الْـمُـلْـكُ يَـبْـقَـى لِـلَّـه
Allah Allah Allah Allah yā mawlāna
lā budda min fanā’al mulku yabqā lillāh
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, O our Master!
Annihilation is inevitable; all sovereignty belongs to Allah
الْـنَّـوَى وَالْـبَـيْـنُ أَقْـلَـقَـنِـي
وَغَـشِـيَ الْـقَـلْـبُ وَ إِحْـتَـرَقَ
alnnawā wal baynu aqlaqanī
waghashiyal qalbu wa iḥtaraqa
The distance and separation have unsettled my soul,
And my heart has been clouded and consumed by fire
الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ يَـا مَـوْلَانَـا
لَا بُـدَّ مِـن فَـنَـاء الْـمُـلْـكُ يَـبْـقَـى لِـلَّـه
Allah Allah Allah Allah yā mawlāna
lā budda min fanā’al mulku yabqā lillāh
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, O our Master!
Annihilation is inevitable; all sovereignty belongs to Allah
بِـثَـوْبِ رِضَـاكُـمْ كَـفِّـنُـونِـي
بِـبَـابِ حِمَاكُمْ أَلْـحِـدُونِـي
bithawbi riḍākum kaffinūnī
bibābi ḥimākum alḥidūnī
In the garment of Your pleasure, shroud me,
At the threshold of Your sanctuary, bury me
الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ الـلَّـهْ يَـا مَـوْلَانَـا
لَا بُـدَّ مِـن فَـنَـاء الْـمُـلْـكُ يَـبْـقَـى لِـلَّـه
Allah Allah Allah Allah yā mawlāna
lā budda min fanā’al mulku yabqā lillāh
Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, O our Master!
Annihilation is inevitable; all sovereignty belongs to Allah
وَاكْـتُـبُـوا عَـلَى قَـبْـرِي وَرَقَـةْ
هَـذَا مُـحِـبٌّ قَـدِ احْـتَـرَقْ
wak tubū ʿalā qabrī waraqah
hadhā muḥibbun qadiḥ taraq
And write upon my grave a simple note,
"This is a lover who burned in yearning"
