يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
أَنْتِ الشَّرِيفَةُ وَالْكَرِيمَةُ
وَالْكَثِيرَةُ لِلصِّيَامِ
antish sharīfatu wal karīmatu
wal kathīratu lilṣṣiyāmi
You are the noblewoman, the honorable,
the oft-fasting
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
هَلْ فِي الْوَرَى جَدٌّ كَجَدِّكِ
أَحْمَدَ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
hal fīl warā jaddun kajaddiki
aḥmada khayril anāmi
Is there amongst creation a grandfather like yours
Ahmad ﷺ, the Best of Creation?
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
هَلْ فِي الْوَرَى أُمٌّ كَأُمِّكِ
نُورُهَا يَجْلُو الظَّلَامَ
hal fīl warā ummun ka ummiki
nūruhā yajlūẓ ẓalāma
Is there amongst creation a mother like yours
her light eradicating all darkness?
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
وَأَبُوكِ حَيْدَرُ مَنْ لَهُ
بَأْسٌ لَدَى حَرْبِ اللِّئَامِ
wa abūki ḥaydaru man lahu
ba sun ladā ḥarbil li’āmi
And your father is Haydar ('Ali ibn Abi Talib),
who brings devastation upon the wretched
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
يَا مَرْحَبًا بِالْحِبِّ زَيْنِ
الْعَابِدِينَ عَلَى الدَّوَامِ
yā marḥaban bil ḥibbi zayni
alʿābidīna ʿalad dawāmi
Welcome, at all times, O most
beloved embellishment of the worshipful servants (Zain al-'Ābidīn)
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
مَنْ كَانَ يَلْقَى مَا يُرِيدُ
بِدَارِهِ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ
man kāna yalqā mā yurīdu
bidārihi fī kulli ʿāmin
He who used to attain his wish
at his abode, every year
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
وَصَلَاتُهُ أَلْفٌ مِنَ
الرَّكَعَاتِ فِي يَوْمٍ تُقَامُ
waṣalātuhu alfun mina
ar rakaʿāti fī yawmin tuqāmu
And each day, of prayer he would
have a thousand units to his name
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
نَبَوِيَّةٌ وَسُكَيْنَةٌ
أُخْتَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
nabawiyyatun wasukaynatun
ukhtayhi min khayril anāmi
(Fātimah) al-Nabawiyyah and Sukainah
are his sisters, from the best of creation
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
وَرُقَيَّةٌ وَنَفِيسَةٌ
أَنْفَاسُهُمْ مِسْكُ الْخِتَامِ
waruqayyatun wanafīsatun
anfāsuhum miskul khitāmi
Likewise, every breath of Ruqayyah
and Nafīsah is a fragrant seal
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
وَكَذَاكَ عَائِشَةُ الَّتِي
مِنْ جَعْفَرٍ ذَاتُ الْمَقَامِ
wakadhāka ʿā’ishatul latī
min jaʿfarin dhātul maqāmi
And so is ‘Āishah, the daughter of (Imam) Ja‘far (al-Sādiq),
endowed with the shrine
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
مُوسَى وَبَاقِرُ جَعْفَرٌ
أَهْلُ الْمَوَدَّةِ وَالسَّلَامِ
mūsā wabāqiru jaʿfarun
ahlul mawaddati was salāmi
So too (Imams) Mūsā (al-Kādhim), (Muhammad) al-Bāqir and
Ja‘far (al-Sādiq); people of affection and peace
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
آلَ النَّبِي نَوَدُّهُمْ
وَبِوِدِّهِمْ نَلْقَى الْمَرَامَ
ālan nabī nawadduhum
wabiwiddihim nalqal marāma
The family of the Prophet ﷺ do we truly love,
and through their love our desires we attain
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
أَنْتُمْ كِرَامٌ وَالْكِرَامُ
لَهُمْ لَدَى اللهِ احْتِرَامُ
antum kirāmun wal kirāmu
lahum lada Allahiḥ tirāmu
You [O the prophetic family] are noble,
and the noble in the sight of Allah are honorable
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
مَنْ جَاءَ يَسْعَى نَحْوَكُمْ
للهِ حَقًّا لَا يُضَامُ
man jā’a yasʿā naḥwakum
lillāhi ḥaqqan lā yuḍāmu
Whoever comes striving towards you
for the sake of Allah is never wronged
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
إِجْعَلْ رِضَاكَ عَلَيْهِمُ
يَا رَبِّ فِي دَارِ السَّلَامِ
ijʿal riḍāka ʿalayhimu
yā rabbi fī dāris salāmi
My Lord, place your pleasure always
upon them in the abode of peace
يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ عَلَى النَّبِي
مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ الْأَنَامِ
yā rabbi ṣalli ʿalan nabī
muḥammadin khayril anāmi
O Lord, bestow your blessings upon the Prophet
Muhammad ﷺ, the Best of Creation
مَا الْجَعْفَرِيُّ أَحَبَّهُمْ
يَرْجُو بِذَا حُسْنَ الْخِتَامِ
mal jaʿfariyyu aḥabbahum
yarjū bidhā ḥusnal khitāmi
As long as al-Ja‘fari is enamoured with them,
hoping by virtue of this an excellent end
