مَرْحَباً يَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَان
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ العِبَادَة
marḥabāan yā shahra ramaḍān
marḥabāan shahral ʿibādah
Welcome, O month of Ramadan!
Welcome, O month of worship!
مَرْحَباً يَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَان
مَرْحَباً شَهْرَ السَّعَادَة
marḥabāan yā shahra ramaḍān
marḥabāan shahras saʿādah
Welcome, O month of Ramadan!
Welcome, O month of felicity.
مَرْحَباً يَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَان
أَنْتَ شَهْرَ الإِسْتِفَاَدَة
marḥabāan yā shahra ramaḍān
anta shahral istifāadah
Welcome, O month of Ramadan!
You are the month of benefit.
مَرْحَباً يَا خَيْرَ قَادِم
بِالْعَوَائِد وَالزِّيَادَه
marḥabāan yā khayra qādim
bil ʿawā'id waz ziyādah
Welcome, O best of guests
who brings gifts and increased [rewards].
فِيكَ يُغْفَر كُلُّ ذَنْبٍ
وَالتَّقِي يُعْطَى مُرَادَه
fīka yughfar kullu dhanbin
wat taqī yuʿṭā murādah
In you all sins are forgiven
and the pious receives his wish
تُفْتَحْ أَبْوَابُ المَوَاهِب
يَرْحَمُ المَوْلَى عِبَادَه
tuftaḥ abwābul mawāhib
yarḥamul mawlā ʿibādah
The doors of divine gifts are opened;
The Lord bestows mercy upon His servants.
يُبْدِلُ العِصْيَانَ طَاعَة
وَالشَّقَاوَةْ بِالسَّعَادَه
yubdilul ʿiṣyāna ṭāʿah
wash shaqāwah bis saʿādah
Disobedience is changed to obedience
as well as perdition to felicity.
أَنْتَ سَيِّدْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ
نِعْمَ هَاتِيكْ السِّيَادَه
anta sayyid kulli shahrin
niʿma hātīks siyādah
You are the preeminent month;
How great that preeminence is!
كُلُّ بَابٍ فِيكَ يُفْتَح
لِلْجِنَانِ المُسْتَجَادَه
kullu bābin fīka yuftaḥ
liljinānil mustajādah
In you all gates
of the excellent gardens are opened;
وَجَهَنَّمْ فِيكَ تُغْلَق
أَوْصَدُوهَا بِالوِصَادَه
wa jahannam fīka tughlaq
awṣadūhā bil wiṣādah
And in you Jahannam is closed
and locked shut.
حَسَنَاتَكْ تَتَضَاعَف
فَوْقَ أَلْفٍ وَزِيَادَه
ḥasanātak tataḍāʿaf
fawqa alfin wa ziyādah
Good deeds in you are multiplied
over a thousand times and even more.
رَبِّ زِدْنَا كُلَّ خَيْرٍ
أَعْطِنَا كُلَّ السَّعَادَه
rabbi zidnā kulla khayrin
aʿṭinā kullas saʿādah
O Lord, increase us in every good
and grant us complete felicity.
وَاخْتِمِْ العُمْرَ بِأَفْضَل
عَمَلٍ حِينَ نَفَادَه
wa khtimial ʿumra biafḍal
ʿamalin ḥīna nafādah
Seal our life with the best
of actions when it ends.
وَاهْدِ عَبْدَكْ لِلْمَرَاضِي
وَاشْفِ جِسْمَهْ وَفُؤَادَه
wa hdi ʿabdak lilmarāḍī
wa shfi jismah wa fuādah
Guide Your servant to what pleases You
and heal his body and heart.
وَأَجِبْ كُلَّ دُعَاءٍ
أَعْطِنَا كُلّاً مُرَادَه
wa ajib kulla duʿā’in
aʿṭinā kullāan murādah
Answer all of our prayers
and grant us each his wish—
مِن حَبِيبٍ وَصَدِيقٍ
أَخْلَصَ اللهَ وِدَادَه
min ḥabībin wa ṣadīqin
akhlaṣa Allaha widādah
All loved ones and friends
who have loved solely for Allah’s sake.
أَصْلِحِْ اللَّهُمَّ لِلكُلِّ مَعَاشَهْ وَمَعَادَه
aṣliḥi Allahumma lilkulli maʿāshah wa maʿādah
Rectify, O Allah, all of our affairs in this world and the Hereafter.
أَعْطِنَا الحُسْنَى إِلَهِي
ثُمَّ أَكْرِمْ بِالْزِّيَادَه
aʿṭināl ḥusnā ilahī
thumma akrim bil zziyādah
Grant us Paradise, O Allah,
then honor us with the gaze upon You.
وَصَلَاةُ اللهِ تَغْشَى
المُصْطَفَى مَوْلَى السِّيَادَه
wa ṣalātu Allahi taghshā
almuṣṭafā mawlās siyādah
May the blessings of Allah envelop
Mustafā (The Chosen One), Master of all Sayyids.
