الــرَّبُّ صَــلَّــى دَائِــمــاً وَسَــلَّــمْ [ يَــا الله ]
عَــلَــى الــمُــكَــرَّمْ [شَــيْءْ لِلّه]
ar rabbu ṣallā dā'imāan wa sallam yā Allah
ʿalāl mukarram shay’ lillh
The Lord forever sends blessings and peace (O Allah)
upon the honored one (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
مَــا زَمْــزَمَ الــحَــادِي وَمَــا تَــرَنَّــمْ [ يَــا الله ]
فــي الــلَّــيْــلِ الأَظْــلَــمْ [شَــيْءْ لِلّٰه]
mā zamzamal ḥādī wa mā tarannam yā Allah
fīl laylil aẓlam shay’ lillāh
as long as the camel driver murmurs and sings (O Allah)
throughout the dark night (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
أَرْجُـو إِلَـهِـي ذَا الـكَـرَمْ وَالإِفْـضَـالْ [ يَـا الله ]
مَـوْلَـى الـمَـوَالِـي [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
arjū ilahī dhāl karam wal ifḍāl yā Allah
mawlāl mawālī shay’ lillh
I put my hope in my God the Possessor of Honor and Beneficence (O Allah)
the Master of All (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
يَـفْـتَـحْ عَـلَـى قَـلْـبِـي سَـنِـيَّ الأَحْـوَالْ [ يَـا الله ]
مِـنْ كُـلِّ عَـالِـي [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
yaftaḥ ʿalā qalbī saniyyal aḥwāl yā Allah
min kulli ʿālī shay’ lillh
that He open upon my heart the loftiest of states (O Allah)
of all that is sublime (Grant me something for Allah's sake)

مِـمَّـا مَـنَـحْ أَوْتَـادَهَـا وَالأَبْـدَالْ [ يَـا الله ]
أَهْـلَ الـكَـمَـالِ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
mimmā manaḥ awtādahā wal abdāl yā Allah
ahlal kamāli shay’ lillh
from that which He granted the Awtād and the Abdāl (O Allah)
the people of perfect states (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
وَأَغْـوَاثَـهَـا وَأَطْـوَادَهَـا وَالأَقْـطَـابْ [ يَـا الله ]
نِعْمَ الـرِّجَـالِ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
wa aghwāthahā wa aṭwādahā wal aqṭāb yā Allah
niʿmar rijāli shay’ lillh
and the Aghwāth, the Aṭwād, and the Aqṭāb (O Allah)
the greatest of people (Grant me something for Allah's sake)

يَـا الـلّٰـهْ بِـذَرَّةْ مِـنْ مَـحَـبَّـةِ الـلّٰـهْ [ يَـا الله ]
تُـحْـيِـي فُـؤَادِي [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
yā Allah bidharrah min maḥabbati Allah yā Allah
tuḥyī fuādī shay’ lillh
O Allah, grant even just an atom's weight of Your love (O Allah)
that will bring life to my heart (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
أَفْـنَـى بِـهَـا عَـنْ كُـلِّ مَـا سِـوَى الـلّٰـهْ [ يَـا الله ]
بَـيْـنَ الـعِـبَـادِ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
afnā bihā ʿan kulli mā siwā Allah yā Allah
baynal ʿibādi shay’ lillh
and by which, I will cease to perceive everything save Allah (O Allah)
from amongst all the servants (Grant me something for Allah's sake)

فَـمَـا أُرَجِّـي الـيَـوْمْ كَـشْـفْ كُـرْبَـةْ [ يَـا الله ]
مِـمَّـا أُعَـانِـي [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
famā urajjīl yawm kashf kurbah yā Allah
mimmā uʿānī shay’ lillh
So, I seek today the alleviation of tribulations (O Allah)
which I struggle with (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
إلَّا أَنْ صَـفَـا لِـي مَـشْـرَبُ الـمَـحَـبَّـةْ [ يَـا الله ]
فـي كَـاسْ هَـانِـي [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
illā an ṣafā lī mashrabul maḥabbah yā Allah
fī kās hānī shay’ lillh
Except, if the drink of love is made pure for me (O Allah)
in a cup of bliss (Grant me something for Allah's sake)

throughout the dark night (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
وَاعْـلَـمْ بِـأَنَّ الـخَـيْـرَ كُـلَّـهْ أَجْـمَـعْ [ يَـا الله ]
إِنْ كُـنْـتَ تَـسْـمَـعْ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
wa ʿlam biannal khayra kullah ajmaʿ yā Allah
in kunta tasmaʿ shay’ lillh
Know that all good in its entirety, (O Allah)
if you are truly listening, (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
ضِـمْـنَ اتِّـبَـاعِـكْ لـلـنَّـبِـيِّ الـمُـشَـفَّـعْ [ يَـا الله ]
الـبَـابْ فَـاقْـرَعْ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
ḍimna āttibāʿik llnnabiyyil mushaffaʿ yā Allah
albāb fa āqraʿ shay’ lillh
is found in your following of the Prophet granted intercession (O Allah)
So, knock on (his) door. (Grant me something for Allah's sake)

صَـلَّـى عَـلَـيْـهِ الله مَـا تَـشَـعْـشَـعْ [ يَـا الله ]
مِـنْ كُـلِّ مَـطْـلَـعْ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
ṣallā ʿalayhi Allah mā tashaʿshaʿ yā Allah
min kulli maṭlaʿ shay’ lillh
May Allah bestow blessings upon him as long as illumination (O Allah)
shines forth from each horizon (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
فَـجْـرٌ وَمَـا سَـالَـتْ عُـيُـونُ الأَشْـعَـابْ [ يَـا الله ]
مِـنْـهَـا تَـفَـرَّعْ [شَـيْءْ لِلّه ]
fajrun wa mā sālat ʿuyūnul ashʿāb yā Allah
minhā tafarraʿ shay’ lillh
from the break of dawn, and as long as the streams of valleys (O Allah)
and all the channels that branch forth from them (Grant me something for Allah's sake)
