I envy the sand that met his feet

Ndimachitira nsanje mchenga umene unakhudza mapazi ake

I’m jealous of honey he tasted sweet

Ndimachitira nsanje uchi umene iye analawa kutsekemera kwake

Of birds that hovered above his head

Ndi mbalame zimene zinayandama pamwamba pa mutu wake

Of spiders who spun their sacred web

Ndi akangaude amene anapota ukonde wawo wopatulika

To save him from his enemies

Kuti amupulumutse kwa adani ake

I envy clouds formed from the seas

Ndimachitira nsanje mitambo yopangidwa kuchokera kunyanja

That gave him cover from the heat

Imene inamupatsa mthunzi ku kutentha

Of a sun whose light could not compete

Kwa dzuwa limene kuwala kwake sikungapikisane

With his, whose face did shine so bright

Ndi kwake, amene nkhope yake inawala kwambiri

That all was clear in blinding night

Kuti zonse zinaoneka poyera mu usiku wamdima bii

I envy sightless trees that gazed

Kuchokera kwa Mulungu amene anapereka chidziwitso

His mercy comes in one He sent

To mold our hearts more heaven bent

Kuti awumbe mitima yathu kuyang'ana kumwamba

I envy all there at his side

Ndimachitira nsanje onse amene anali mbali mwake

Who watched the turning of the tide

Amene anaona kusintha kwa zinthu

As truth prevailed and falsehood fled

Pamene choonadi chinapambana ndipo bodza linathawa

And hope restored life to the dead

I envy the cup that gave him drink

Maganizo ake amene anatithandiza tonse kuganiza

To be one thought that passed his mind

Kukhala lingaliro limodzi limene linadutsa m'maganizo mwake

Kumulimbikitsa iye kuchita mokoma mtima

For me this world is not one jot

Kwa ine dziko lino silofunika kantu kalikonse

If I could simply be a thought

Ngati ndikanatha kukhala lingaliro chabe

From him to God throughout the ages

Kuchokera kwa iye kupita kwa Mulungu m'mibadwo yonse

As revelation came in stages

Pamene vumbulutso linkadza pang'onopang'ono

I pity all who think it odd

Kumene kumathandiza anthu abwino kuona kuwala kwake

He taught us all to be God’s slaves

Anatiphunzitsa tonse kukhala akapolo a Mulungu

Ndipo iye ndiye adzakhala amene adzapulumutsa

Humanity from sinful pride

Anthu onse ku kunyada kwa uchimo

Muhammad has God on his side

Muhammad ali ndi Mulungu kumbali yake

So on this day be blessed and sing

Choncho pa tsiku lino dalitsidwani ndipo imbani

For he was born to grace our Spring

With lilies, flowers, life’s rebirth

Ndi maluwa a kakombo, maluwa, ndi kubadwanso kwa moyo
