Ṣalli rabbī ʿala n-nabiyyi, shafīʿinā Aḥmad
Mijn Heer, zend vrede over de Profeet, onze voorspraak Ahmad
Mijn Heer, zend vrede over de Profeet, onze meester Muhammad
The people that in darkness dwelt,
Het volk dat in de duisternis verbleef,
A glorious light have seen
Heeft een glorierijk licht aanschouwd
God's prophet now to them hath come,
Gods profeet is nu tot hen gekomen,
Muhammad, Al-Amin
Muhammad, Al-Amin
We hail thee, Allah's Prophet true,
Wij groeten u, Allah's ware Profeet,
Of prophecy the seal
Het zegel der profetie
We read with reverence the Book,
Wij lezen met eerbied het Boek,
Thou wast sent to reveal
Dat u gezonden bent te openbaren
For thou the burden did'st remove,
Want u hebt de last weggenomen,
Idolatry's fell rod
De felle roede der afgoderij
And in thy day the idols fell,
En in uw tijd vielen de afgoden,
Before the Sword of God
Vóór het Zwaard van God
To bless Arabia and the world,
Om Arabië en de wereld te zegenen,
Most surely thou wast raised
Bent u voorzeker gezonden
We'll sing thy praises evermore,
Wij zullen uw lof immer bezingen,
Our Mustafa, the praised
Onze Mustafa, de geprezene
We watch with gentle, fostering care,
Wij waken met milde, koesterende zorg,
The seed that thou hast sown
Over het zaad dat u hebt gezaaid
And trust to hear the world declare,
En vertrouwen erop de wereld te horen verkondigen,
God's prophet as its own
Dat Gods profeet de hare is
