I envy the sand that met his feet

I’m jealous of honey he tasted sweet

Of birds that hovered above his head
Pou zwazo ki te plane anlè tèt li
Of spiders who spun their sacred web
Pou arenyen ki te tise twal sakre
To save him from his enemies
Pou sove li anba tout lènmi li yo
I envy clouds formed from the seas
Mwen anvye nwaj ki soti nan lanmè
That gave him cover from the heat
Ki te ba li lonbraj kont chalè a
Of a sun whose light could not compete
Yon solèy limyè li pa ka konpare
With his, whose face did shine so bright
Ak pa li a, kote figi l t ap briye
That all was clear in blinding night
Tout te klè nan nwit ki te avegle
I envy sightless trees that gazed
Mwen anvye pyebwa avèg ki gade
Upon his form completely dazed
Sou bèl fòm li, yo te rete sezi
Not knowing if the sun had risen
San yo pa konnen si solèy leve
But felt themselves in unison
Men yo te santi yo fè yon sèl kò
With those who prayed, and fasted too
Ak sa ki t ap priye e ki jene
Simply because he told them to

From God who gave such clarity

I envy all there at his side

Who watched the turning of the tide

As truth prevailed and falsehood fled

And hope restored life to the dead

Men and Women through him found grace

I envy the cup that gave him drink

His thoughts that helped us all to think

To be one thought that passed his mind

Inspiring him to act so kind

It’s pride that blinds us from the sight
Se lògèy ki avegle je nou tout
That helps good men to see his light
Ki ede bon moun yo wè limyè li
He taught us all to be God’s slaves
Li moutre nou pou n sèvitè Bondye
And he will be the one who saves

Humanity from sinful pride
Limanite anba peche lògèy
Muhammad has God on his side
Muhammad gen Bondye bò kote li
So on this day be blessed and sing
Nan jou sa a, se pou n beni e chante
For he was born to grace our Spring
