I envy the sand that met his feet
Gıpta ederim ayaklarına değen o kumlara
I’m jealous of honey he tasted sweet
Kıskanırım o tattığı tatlı balları
Of birds that hovered above his head
Başının üzerinde süzülen o kuşları
Of spiders who spun their sacred web
O mukaddes ağı ören örümcekleri
To save him from his enemies
Onu düşmanlarından korumak adına
I envy clouds formed from the seas
Denizlerden yükselen bulutlara gıpta ederim
That gave him cover from the heat
Onu o yakıcı hararetten koruyan
Of a sun whose light could not compete
Işığı asla rekabet edemeyen bir güneşin
With his, whose face did shine so bright
O'nun yüzüyle ki, öyle parlak ışık saçardı
That all was clear in blinding night
Zifiri gecede bile her şey ayan beyan olurdu
I envy sightless trees that gazed
O'nu hayranlıkla seyreden kör ağaçlara gıpta ederim
Upon his form completely dazed
O’nun cemali karşısında kendinden geçmiş halde
Not knowing if the sun had risen
Bilmeksizin güneş mi doğdu ufuktan
But felt themselves in unison
Fakat hissederlerdi kendilerini tam bir vahdet içinde
With those who prayed, and fasted too
Namaz kılan ve oruç tutanlarla bir arada
Simply because he told them to
Sırf o, kendilerine böyle buyurduğu için
With truth and kindness, charity
Doğrulukla, nezaketle ve ihsanla
From God who gave such clarity
Böylesi bir beyan veren Allah katından
His mercy comes in one He sent
O’nun rahmeti, gönderdiği o zatta tecelli eder
To mold our hearts more heaven bent
Kalplerimizi cennet meylince yoğurmak için
I envy all there at his side
O’nun yanında bulunan herkese gıpta ederim
Who watched the turning of the tide
Devrin ve kaderin akışını izleyenlere
As truth prevailed and falsehood fled
Hak galip gelip de batıl zail olurken
And hope restored life to the dead
Ve ümit ölülere yeniden can verirken
Men and Women through him found grace
Erkekler ve kadınlar o’nunla lütfa erdi
To seek together God’s noble face
Allah’ın o yüce veçhini birlikte aramak için
I envy the cup that gave him drink
O’na içecek sunan kadehi kıskanırım
His thoughts that helped us all to think
Bizi tefekküre sevk eden o düşüncelerini
To be one thought that passed his mind
Zihninden geçen tek bir düşünce olabilmeyi
Inspiring him to act so kind
O’nu böylesi bir nezakete sevk eden
For me this world is not one jot
Benim nazarımda bu dünyanın bir zerrece hükmü yok
If I could simply be a thought
Eğer sadece bir düşünce olabilseydim
From him to God throughout the ages
O’ndan Allah’a çağlar boyu uzanan
As revelation came in stages
Vahiy merhale merhale nazil olurken
I pity all who think it odd
Bunu garipseyenlerin haline acırım
To hear him say there is one God
O’nun "Allah birdir" dediğini duyup da
Or he was sent by God to men
Yahut Allah’ın insanlara elçisi olduğunu
To hone their spirits’ acumen
Ruhların ferasetini keskinleştirmek üzere
It’s pride that blinds us from the sight
Bizi bu görüşten mahrum bırakan kibirdir
That helps good men to see his light
Erdemli kişilerin o’nun nurunu görmesini sağlayan
He taught us all to be God’s slaves
O hepimize Allah’a kul olmayı öğretti
And he will be the one who saves
Ve o olacaktır asıl kurtuluşa erdiren
Humanity from sinful pride
İnsanlığı o günahkar kibir batağından
Muhammad has God on his side
Muhammed’in yardımcısı Allah’tır
So on this day be blessed and sing
Öyleyse bu kutlu günde sevinçle terennüm edin
For he was born to grace our Spring
Çünkü o baharımızı şereflendirmek için doğdu
With lilies, flowers, life’s rebirth
Zambaklarla, çiçeklerle ve hayatın ihyasıyla
In a dome of green like his on earth
