Anthem for the Prophet ﷺ
መዝሙር ንነብይ (ሰ.ዓ.ወ)
Ti
Ṣalli rabbī ʿala n-nabiyyi, shafīʿinā Aḥmad
Ṣalli rabbī ʿala n-nabiyyi, shafīʿinā Aḥmad
ጐይታይ ኣብቲ መማላድና ዝኾነ ነቢይ ኣሕመድ ሰላም አውርድ
ጐይታይ ኣብቲ ጐይታና ዝኾነ ነቢይ ሙሓመድ ሰላም አውርድ
The people that in darkness dwelt,
እቶም ኣብ ጸልማት ዝነበሩ ህዝብታት
A glorious light have seen
ግርማ ዘለዎ ብርሃን ርእዮም
God's prophet now to them hath come,
ናይ ኣምላኽ ነቢይ ሕጂ ናብኦም መጺኡ
Muhammad, Al-Amin
ሙሓመድ፡ እቲ እሙን
We hail thee, Allah's Prophet true,
ኦ ሓቀኛ ነቢይ ኣላህ ሰላም ንብለካ
Of prophecy the seal
ማሕተም ናይ ኩሎም ነቢያት
We read with reverence the Book,
ነቲ መጽሓፍ ብኽብሪ ነንብቦ
Thou wast sent to reveal
ንስኻ ክትገልጾ ዝተለኣኽካዮ
For thou the burden did'st remove,
ነቲ ጾር ኣልዒልካዮ ኢኻ እሞ
Idolatry's fell rod
ናይ ጣኦታት ጭካነ ዝመልኦ በትሪ
And in thy day the idols fell,
ብዘመንካ እቶም ጣኦታት ወደቁ
Before the Sword of God
ኣብ ቅድሚ ሰይፊ ናይ ኣላህ
To bless Arabia and the world,
ንዓረብን ንመላእ ዓለምን ክትባርኽ
Most surely thou wast raised
ብርግጽ ልዑል ኴንካ ተላኢኻ
We'll sing thy praises evermore,
ንዘልኣለም ውዳሴኻ ክንዝምር ኢና
Our Mustafa, the praised
ሙስጠፋና፡ እቲ ዝተመስገነ
We watch with gentle, fostering care,
ብለውሃትን ብክንክንን ንዕዘብ ኣለና
The seed that thou hast sown
ነቲ ንስኻ ዝዘራእካዮ ዘርኢ
And trust to hear the world declare,
ዓለም ክትእውጅ ክንሰምዕ ንጽበ
God's prophet as its own
ነቲ ናይ ኣምላኽ ነቢይ ከም ናታ ገይራ
