Head Toward Madinah, and You Shall See the Lights

yammim naḥwal madīnah taral anwar
waq ṣud ḥimā nabiyyinā ṭahal mukhtār
Head towards Medina and you shall see the lights,
And seek the sanctuary of our Prophet, Taha, the Chosen One
muḥammad yā abal zzahrā narjū naẓrah
aral qubbatal khaḍrā laylan wanahār
O Muhammad, O father of Zahra, we hope for a glance,
I behold the Green Dome, night and day
muḥammad yā abal qāsim innī hā’im
ʿasā taqbalniy khādim anā wal ḥuḍḍār
O Muhammad, O father of Qasim, I am utterly enamored,
Perhaps you will accept me as a servant, me and all those present
fam dud yadak wal bāʿā wal dhdhirāʿā
waṭ lub minhul shshafāʿah waqtal asḥār
So stretch forth your hand, your reach, and your arm,
and seek from him intercession in the pre-dawn hours
waqif ḥawlal ḍḍarīḥi yā faṣīḥi
wagh sil qalbal jarīḥi minal ’akdār
And stand around the blessed resting place, O eloquent one,
And wash the wounded heart of all its sorrows
